Job description
Role overview
Unboxed Group is seeking a strategic and creatively minded Social Media Manager to shape how the brand appears across digital channels. This position is responsible for defining the social vision, guiding content direction, and making sure every post reflects the company’s premium, high-energy identity. The role combines high-level planning with hands-on content creation, including coverage at live events and brand storytelling in real time.
About the company
Unboxed Group is a global creative agency known for building memorable brand experiences. Based in Los Angeles and delivering events across the country, the team turns ideas into immersive stories that connect concept and execution.
Key responsibilities
The Social Media Manager will lead the brand’s social presence across platforms, shape the editorial and visual tone, manage publishing schedules, and contribute to reporting and campaign planning. The role also includes working closely with creative and production teams, capturing event content, and supporting cross-functional marketing needs.
Content strategy and creation
- Set the creative and editorial direction for Unboxed’s social media presence across channels.
- Attend notable events, both in the local area and occasionally nationwide, to gather polished behind-the-scenes footage and guide on-site storytelling.
- Create, edit, and publish short-form video content such as Reels, TikToks, and Stories that showcase the production process and strengthen brand image.
- Build and maintain social content guidelines so the brand stays visually and verbally consistent across all platforms.
Social media management
- Own the social strategy for Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other emerging platforms.
- Run the content calendar and keep posting frequent, consistent, and aligned with business priorities and campaign timing.
- Monitor audience interaction, reply to comments and direct messages, and look for ways to deepen engagement and loyalty.
- Keep track of algorithm updates, platform changes, and new trends, and recommend adjustments when needed.
Marketing strategy and reporting
- Prepare and present social media plans and campaign ideas to internal teams and leadership.
- Handle analytics reporting by tracking KPIs, interpreting results, and turning insights into clear action steps.
- Develop pitch decks and marketing collateral using Google Workspace tools.
- Use AI tools to speed up content ideas, copy development, and trend research.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Work with production and creative teams to ensure social content supports upcoming projects and client deliverables.
- Act as the internal go-to person for social media best practices, platform updates, and brand voice.
- Assess and coordinate with external creators or freelance support when needed.
Candidate profile
The right candidate is both analytical and highly creative, with a strong eye for composition, lighting, pacing, and cohesive branding. They should be comfortable making data-informed decisions, taking initiative without waiting for direction, and adapting to different working environments, including office days and event-based production settings. The ideal hire also understands how to market a luxury or entertainment-focused creative brand and is comfortable using AI and automation to improve efficiency.
Experience and technical background
This position requires at least 4 years of professional experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content strategy, ideally within entertainment, a creative agency, or a luxury brand environment. A successful candidate should have a proven record of growing brand accounts and producing measurable results on Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn, along with a strong portfolio of relevant campaign and content work. Familiarity with scheduling and analytics platforms such as Later or Sprout Social is important, as is hands-on experience with editing tools like CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, and Canva.
Technical requirements
- Advanced proficiency with Google Workspace, including Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
- Experience using native platform analytics and/or third-party reporting tools.
- Working knowledge of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar platforms for marketing use cases.
- Expert-level mobile content capture skills, especially on iPhone/iOS.
Work arrangement
This is a full-time, exempt role based in Los Angeles, California. The schedule is hybrid: in-office Monday through Thursday and remote on Fridays. The position also involves regular travel to events, mainly in Los Angeles with occasional out-of-state production travel.
Compensation and benefits
The salary range for this role is $85,000 to $95,000 per year. Benefits include unlimited PTO, health insurance, and 401(k) enrollment options.
