Role Overview
Beat 102 103, the leading youth music and entertainment station in Ireland's South East region covering Wexford, Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny, and South Tipperary, is seeking a Social Media Executive to enhance and expand its digital presence across multiple platforms. Reporting to the Head of Social Media, the successful candidate will craft and implement content strategies aimed at boosting audience engagement and reinforcing the brand's identity, emphasizing the enjoyment and fun aspects of life. The role requires producing, distributing, and analyzing content for an engaged audience nearing 900,000. This position is based in the Beat 102 103 Waterford offices with a requirement to be on-site for two days weekly.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute a strategic social media plan to grow audience reach, engagement, and brand awareness.
- Oversee and manage all @Beat social media accounts—including Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube—maintaining high standards of content quality and community interaction.
- Produce engaging and shareable multimedia content such as graphics, videos (filming and editing), aligned with audience interests.
- Plan, schedule, and disseminate content via social media management tools while maintaining a mix of original and user-generated materials.
- Analyze performance metrics and social media analytics to deliver insights for content strategy optimization.
- Keep abreast of evolving social media trends and emerging platforms to integrate new channels when appropriate.
- Collaborate with presenters, producers, and marketing teams to create or repurpose on-air material for social platforms.
- Lead community engagement efforts by actively responding to comments, messages, and interactions.
- Support paid social media advertising ventures to enhance reach and audience interaction.
- Contribute to promotional events, contests, and commercial campaigns through targeted social media coverage.
- Manage the content planning calendar with timely updates to coincide with trending topics and station programming.
- Monitor and report monthly on social media key performance indicators (KPIs) providing detailed insights.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience in managing social media, creating content, and engaging audiences effectively.
- Proficiency in video filming, editing, and graphic design using Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Premiere Pro).
- Strong understanding of digital trends, audience behaviors, and successful engagement tactics.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with great attention to detail and results orientation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with creative problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of Beat’s brand, tone, and target demographic.
- Experience with paid social campaigns and live social broadcasting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics and social scheduling platforms like Sprout Social is beneficial.
- Comfortable using Facebook Business Manager, X for Business, and TikTok for Business.
- Strong organizational and planning skills required.
- Understanding of media copyrights preferred.
- Knowledge of the Irish radio and entertainment sectors is a plus.
