Job description
About Too Sweet Cakes
Too Sweet Cakes is a community-focused bakery brand with operations spanning Arizona and Oregon. We are dedicated to creating delicious food and ensuring our online presence reflects the same intentionality as our baking. As we expand, we are assembling a marketing team capable of sustaining our growth momentum.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Social Media & Content Manager to lead our brand's presence across various platforms. This role involves more than just posting content; it requires strategic thinking about the purpose, timing, and methods of our online engagement. The position integrates content creation, copywriting, community interaction, and platform strategy. You will be instrumental in ensuring Too Sweet Cakes communicates a cohesive and compelling narrative wherever our audience engages with us. Working closely with the Marketing Director and the creative team, you will develop and implement social media strategies, produce connecting content, and foster a vibrant community around a brand that is already cherished.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Strategy & Ownership: Manage and oversee Too Sweet Cakes' presence on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and emerging platforms. Develop tailored strategies for each platform, recognizing that effective approaches differ across social networks. Monitor content performance, extract insights, and use data to inform strategic recommendations for brand advancement. Stay informed about algorithm changes, emerging trends, and best practices, adapting our strategy proactively.
- Content Creation & Copywriting: Conceptualize, create, and produce engaging content, including static posts, carousels, Stories, Reels, and TikToks. Craft compelling copy for captions, campaign messaging, and community responses, maintaining a consistent brand voice. Manage and execute a content calendar to ensure a consistent posting schedule, timeliness, and alignment with seasonal campaigns. Collaborate with the design and marketing teams to bring campaign concepts to life from ideation to completion.
- Community Management: Engage authentically with our online community by responding to comments, direct messages, and mentions in a manner that fosters genuine connection. Monitor brand sentiment and identify potential opportunities or concerns. Cultivate relationships with local community members, creators, and brand advocates.
- In-Person Presence: Spend time in both retail and warehouse environments to stay connected with the product and the team, with a minimum of two in-person days per week. Capture on-site content at retail locations and production facilities as needed.
Requirements
- Possess 2–4 years of experience in social media management, content creation, or a closely related marketing field.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of owning platform strategy, including decision-making on content and rationale, beyond simple post scheduling.
- Exhibit strong copywriting abilities with the capacity to adapt tone and voice for different platforms and audiences.
- Be proficient with content creation tools, with Canva being essential and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, or similar) being a significant advantage.
- Have experience creating short-form video content, understanding performance dynamics on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
- Be comfortable analyzing social media metrics, identifying key performance indicators, and translating data into actionable steps.
- Show hands-on experience managing multiple social media platforms concurrently.
- Possess a keen eye for aesthetics, brand consistency, and visual storytelling.
- Demonstrate initiative as a self-starter, capable of generating ideas and proposing solutions.
- Photography skills and experience with food or lifestyle brands are considered advantageous.
Portfolio Requirement
A portfolio showcasing your work is mandatory for consideration. This should include examples of social media content you've created and managed (posts, Stories, Reels, campaigns), copywriting samples, and any work demonstrating strategic thinking. Links to live brand accounts you have managed are welcome. Applications lacking work samples will not be processed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay ranging from $23 to $28, based on experience.
- Full-time employment hours.
- Eligibility for benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Paid sick time.
- 401(k) plan is forthcoming.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- Flexibility: Enjoy a hybrid work schedule, with remote flexibility on days outside the two required in-person days.
- Real Impact: Take ownership of the social media strategy and brand voice for a growing and beloved local brand.
- Creative Ownership: This is not merely an execution role; you will shape our messaging, communication style, and online presence.
- Growth Opportunity: Become part of a small, collaborative marketing team with ample potential for professional development as the brand expands.
