Job description

About the Role

The Fifth Avenue Hotel in New York City is looking for a Social Media & Creative Manager to lead the hotel’s in-house social and visual storytelling efforts. This position is centered on creating engaging on-property content, shaping the brand’s digital presence, and keeping the hotel’s social channels aligned with a luxury aesthetic and cultural relevance. The role calls for a digitally fluent creative professional who can turn the energy of the property into compelling stories for a global audience.

The hotel is an award-winning luxury destination in Manhattan with 149 guest rooms, known for intentional design, personal service, distinctive food and beverage experiences, art, and cultural programming. The brand expression is meant to feel curious, immersive, and ever-changing, with each guest experience designed to feel unique.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the hotel’s organic social media approach across platforms such as Instagram and newer channels to strengthen worldwide brand visibility.
  • Track emerging platform behavior, content styles, and digital trends while protecting the standards expected of a luxury brand.
  • Work with the Creative Director and Director of Marketing to build content calendars that support brand campaigns and property programming.
  • Handle daily community interaction to grow an engaged and loyal online audience.
  • Create on-site photo, video, and graphic content that captures the hotel’s visual identity and atmosphere.
  • Plan and carry out photography and short-form video shoots covering guest rooms, suites, public spaces, food and beverage, lifestyle moments, events, and cultural activity.
  • Edit and deliver polished social-first assets quickly and efficiently.
  • Spot and document unscripted moments, hidden stories, and distinctive experiences across the property.
  • Coordinate with freelancers, outside creatives, and other production partners as needed to expand and refresh the visual content library.
  • Collaborate with food and beverage and hotel operations teams to maintain consistent storytelling across all guest touchpoints.
  • Support public relations, influencer activity, and creator partnerships while keeping visual execution aligned with the brand.
  • Design and produce brand-consistent marketing materials and digital assets that help meet property goals.
  • Review organic performance data, prepare monthly reports, and convert insights into practical improvements for future content and channel growth.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Creative Design, Communications, or equivalent hands-on experience is preferred.
  • Four to six years of experience in content creation or creative brand-focused work, ideally within luxury hospitality, premium lifestyle, or high-end luxury sectors.
  • Strong visual judgment, a refined design sense, and a natural ability to tell stories through content.
  • Solid technical knowledge of social media platforms, new formats, emerging trends, and performance measurement.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong photo and video work created specifically for social-first channels.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and advanced mobile editing tools.
  • Comfort working with freelancers, production teams, and outside creative partners.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to pair creative thinking with property-level results.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving hotel environment and stay closely connected to day-to-day operations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, when needed for live events, creator visits, or operational support.
  • Physically able to spend extended time standing, walking, and moving throughout the property while capturing content in guest areas and back-of-house spaces.

Work Environment

This is an on-property role in a dynamic luxury hotel setting. The position requires close involvement with daily hotel activity, frequent movement across the property, and a schedule that may shift based on programming and operational needs.

Why Join The Fifth Avenue Hotel
