Social Impact Consultant

About the Role

Sowen is hiring a Social Impact Consultant to help design, measure, and execute data-led strategies for foundations, nonprofits, governments, and mission-driven organizations. The work sits at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and implementation, with the goal of turning ambitious ideas into practical plans that strengthen communities and improve outcomes.

You will join an optimistic, inclusive team that values accountability, kindness, and integrity, while taking on meaningful ownership from the start. This role reports to the Chief Strategy Officer and is an individual-contributor position with potential progression into a management path as the company expands.

What You’ll Do

Your work will involve developing and carrying out strategies that create measurable social impact, while partnering closely with clients and internal teams. You’ll work directly with senior leaders and stakeholders, guide important projects, and move between strategy, facilitation, analysis, and execution.

• Lead discovery and scoping efforts that turn complex, unclear problems into structured action plans.
• Build strategic plans, operating models, and implementation roadmaps that help clients make progress on key priorities.
• Handle client projects independently, including managing timelines, deliverables, and budgets.
• Use qualitative and quantitative research to surface risks, opportunities, and practical recommendations.
• Plan and facilitate workshops, interviews, focus groups, and stakeholder discussions that support alignment and decisions.
• Prepare reports and presentations that convert data and trends into insights for non-technical audiences.
• Assist with business development efforts such as proposals and RFP responses.
• Contribute articles, presentations, and strategic communications that support Sowen’s thought leadership and brand.

What the Role Requires

• Excellent writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas into clear, persuasive messaging.
• Strong analytical ability, systems thinking, logic modeling, and comfort working with data.
• Experience producing strategic documents, presentations, and materials for clients.
• Strong project management capabilities and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines at once.
• A hands-on, adaptable mindset suited to a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
• Proven ability to use AI tools thoughtfully and responsibly across research, operations, analysis, and communications.
• 4 to 6 years of experience in consulting, project management, or a comparable role.
• At least 3 years of professional research and data analysis experience.
• Experience across public, private, philanthropic, or academic settings is a plus.
• Comfort working remotely and in modern, flexible workflows.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base pay of $90,000 to $100,000, plus performance bonuses.
• Fully remote role with opportunities for in-person meetings and travel.
