Job description
Role Overview
The Snoomart Operations Manager is the key link between the rider supply function and dark store operations. In this role, you will investigate recurring inefficiencies across first-mile and last-mile execution, convert operational data into practical improvements, and make sure decisions on the supply side translate effectively at store and rider level. You will own the coordination layer that keeps Snoomart’s fulfilment engine running smoothly.
What You Will Do
- Act as the main point of contact between driver supply and dark store teams, so rider availability matches demand trends and store-side limitations are flagged early before they affect fulfilment.
- Take ownership of the daily operations health dashboard, monitoring first-mile indicators such as TDT and arrival time, as well as last-mile indicators like on-time promise, rider utilisation, order accuracy, and cancellation rate.
- Carry out structured analysis to identify the root causes behind repeated operational breakdowns.
- Work closely with driver supply planners and dark store Team Leaders to align staffing and rider deployment with actual order volume instead of fixed schedules.
- Create and roll out SOPs across handover points, especially where supply-side mistakes can escalate into customer-facing issues.
- Run regular cross-functional operations reviews with driver supply, store operations, and technology teams, turning KPI insights into improvement initiatives with clear owners and timelines.
- Spot, test, and scale process enhancements such as slot optimisation, routing logic, and rider zoning, while building the measurement approach needed to confirm impact.
- Serve as the escalation contact for operational issues that sit between driver supply and store operations.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or fulfilment is required.
- Background working across two operational functions, such as driver supply and store operations, or warehouse and delivery, rather than managing only one side.
- Strong analytical ability, with comfort in working with data, creating simple dashboards, and drawing a clear narrative from incomplete or unclear numbers.
- A process-building mindset with the ability to map workflows, pinpoint failure points, and write SOPs that teams can actually use.
- Capability to influence stakeholders without direct reporting authority, since the role coordinates across teams without line management responsibility.
- High tolerance for ambiguity and shared ownership gaps, with the ability to identify the real owner of a problem and drive alignment proactively.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in quick commerce, dark store operations, or grocery delivery.
- Exposure to e-commerce operations.
- Experience in ride-hailing or driver and fleet management.
- Formal training or background in operations excellence such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methods.
- Experience in start-up or high-growth environments.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Tableau for operational reporting.
- Arabic language skills.
- Understanding of MENA markets.
