Position Overview
Boden Group is representing a prominent global company in seeking an experienced Operations Director/Site Director to oversee a significant, complex, and highly regulated site based in Derby, UK. This senior executive role encompasses full accountability for operational outcomes, client engagement, financial management, and the growth of a substantial onsite workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the daily management of a large-scale integrated facilities management contract.
- Provide strong leadership to an on-site multidisciplinary team of about 100 employees.
- Cultivate trusted, strategic partnerships with senior clients.
- Manage site profit and loss, budgeting, forecasting, and overall commercial results.
- Ensure safe, compliant, and consistent delivery of technical, engineering, and facility services.
- Lead initiatives to enhance service quality, operational effectiveness, and employee engagement.
- Supervise the work of internal departments, specialist collaborators, and subcontractors.
- Support long-term development, transformation projects, and estate planning for the site.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to elevate services, add value, and foster contract expansion.
- Maintain high standards in health and safety, compliance, risk governance, and regulatory adherence.
- Develop and inspire the leadership team to build a positive, accountable, and high-performing organizational culture.
- Deliver regular operational, financial, and service performance reports.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated senior operational leadership experience within facilities management, engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, or similarly regulated industries.
- Comprehensive understanding of engineering or technical services.
- Track record of managing budgets, P&L responsibilities, and making commercial decisions.
- Experience handling large, diverse teams in operational roles.
- Ability to rapidly build credibility with demanding senior stakeholders.
- Visible, practical, resilient, and influential leadership style.
- Proven capability in leading organizational change, enhancing performance, and earning the trust of well-established teams.
Compensation and Benefits
This role offers a salary of £110,000 annually, with additional performance bonuses and a company car provided.
