Position Overview

The Shipping Coordinator is tasked with managing daily customer shipment operations, guaranteeing accurate order processing and punctual delivery. This role enhances order fulfillment through shipment handling, document preparation, carrier coordination, and maintaining precise system records.

Primary Duties

• Manage and coordinate domestic and international shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Prepare shipping documentation like labels, packing slips, commercial invoices, and export papers.
• Arrange pick-ups and deliveries by liaising with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
• Pack and stage products for shipment following company guidelines and customer specifications.
• Keep accurate records of shipping, tracking, and order fulfillment within ERP and internal systems.
• Track shipment progress and communicate updates regarding shipment status or delivery issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards, including FDA and ISO 13485.
• Collaborate closely with the Logistics Specialist to optimize order completion.
• Assist with internal inventory transfers and shipping-related transactions as needed.
• Work collaboratively across departments.
• Maintain data accuracy and uphold inventory transaction integrity.
• Adhere strictly to quality procedures and company protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Educational and Professional Background

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• Certifications in logistics, supply chain, or transportation are beneficial.
• Two to three years of logistics experience is required.
• Experience in regulated sectors like medical device manufacturing is preferred.
• Proven experience handling domestic and international shipments.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and accurate transaction record-keeping.
• Competency in preparing shipping and export documents.

Skills and Expertise

• Understanding of ISO 13485 standards relating to shipping and distribution is advantageous.
• Knowledge of customs, import/export regulations, and international shipping protocols.
• Comprehensive grasp of shipping, fulfillment, carrier operations, and customer delivery needs.
• Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines reliably.
• Self-driven, adaptable, and client-oriented approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience working with ERP platforms.

Additional Job Requirements

• Work primarily involves warehouse duties with occasional exposure to production and office environments.
• Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and bending.

Compensation Details

The role offers a target salary between $48,000 and $55,000 annually, which reflects base pay exclusive of bonuses and benefits. Compensation offered will depend on candidate experience, skills, and educational background. The position is also eligible for bonuses.
