Job Overview

The Shipper/Receiver plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of all outgoing shipments and incoming goods. This position directly impacts other business functions that rely on the precision and timeliness of logistical operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing outgoing shipments, including loading, repetitive heavy lifting, and utilizing necessary equipment. Freight appointment scheduling is also a key duty. Additionally, the role involves inspecting incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, managing inventory, and maintaining effective relationships with shipping carriers.

Responsibilities

• Verify the accuracy of items and quantities against packing slips.
• Match received products with corresponding shipping orders.
• Prepare and schedule outgoing shipments as directed.
• Track shipments and confirm receipt of deliveries as needed.
• Manage all necessary paperwork and maintain comprehensive records for reporting and tracking purposes.
• Address and resolve issues related to missing documents, shipments, or deliveries.
• Sort, stock, and conduct cycle counts for inventory.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
• Generate bills of lading and delivery forms, both digitally and manually.
• Conduct thorough checks of orders for accuracy prior to shipping.
• Utilize time effectively to ensure prompt receipt and dispatch of all items.
• Prepare shipping packages for inventory and equipment.
• Assemble pallets for larger orders.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Shipping and Receiving role is mandatory.
• Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations.
• Exceptional attention to detail across all work tasks.
• Strong organizational skills, with a tidy and detail-oriented approach.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and quickly solve problems.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Competence in computer use and typing.
• Forklift operation experience is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Physical capability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
