Overview
Join Starbucks as a Shift Supervisor and support the store manager in managing store activities during scheduled shifts. Lead the team by assigning tasks and organizing partner deployment to deliver the renowned Starbucks Experience, which includes exceptional customer service, consistent quality beverage and food preparation, and maintaining a welcoming and tidy store environment. Primary Responsibilities
- Demonstrate integrity, honesty, and a commitment that align with Starbucks' culture, values, and mission.
- Maintain composure during busy periods or unexpected occurrences to uphold store standards and set a constructive example for the shift team.
- Constantly assess the environment and customers to anticipate needs proactively.
- Communicate effectively with the store manager to ensure the team can foster a Third Place atmosphere each shift.
- Assist in onboarding new partners by positively reinforcing their successes and providing respectful, encouraging guidance as necessary.
- Provide store manager with feedback about partner performance during shifts.
- Contribute to a positive team spirit by noticing changes in partner morale and addressing them with the store manager.
- Offer timely, clear, and respectful coaching to partners during shifts aimed at operational excellence and performance improvement.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by prioritizing customers' needs and engaging with them meaningfully.
- Identify and respond effectively to customer requirements.
- Build constructive relationships with team members by understanding and addressing their motivations, needs, and concerns.
- Manage store operations effectively throughout the scheduled shift.
- Coordinate opening and closing tasks as assigned.
- Adhere strictly to Starbucks' policies on operations, cash handling, safety, and security to ensure a safe workplace for all partners.
- Enforce proper cash management procedures within the shift team.
- Monitor baristas' service delivery during shifts to ensure consistently legendary customer experiences.
- Maintain dependable attendance and punctual arrival.
- Prepare quality beverages, food, and whole bean products consistently by following all recipes and presentation protocols.
- Observe all hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards related to product handling.
- Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements using organizational tools and in collaboration with the store manager to innovate recognition methods.
- Utilize operational tools to uphold high standards of operational performance during the shift.
Experience and Skills Required
- Previous customer service experience within retail or restaurant settings is essential.
- Competency in guiding and directing others.
- Quick learning ability.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with retail operational environments.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Teamwork skills and collaborative spirit.
