Overview

As a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks in Windsor, Ontario, you will support the Store Manager in managing daily store operations during your shifts. Leading the team, you will assign tasks and guide partners to deliver the renowned Starbucks Experience by providing quick, high-quality beverages and products, while ensuring the store remains clean and welcoming. You'll embody Starbucks' core values while working with a team passionate about their roles in an award-winning company culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate integrity and honesty that align with Starbucks culture, values, and mission.
  • Maintain composure during busy or unusual situations to ensure smooth store operations and set a positive example for the team.
  • Constantly assess the store environment and customer needs to anticipate and respond proactively.
  • Communicate essential information to the Store Manager to help create a welcoming “Third Place” environment each shift.
  • Support new partner onboarding by encouraging good performance and offering respectful coaching when necessary.
  • Provide performance feedback to the Store Manager regarding partners during your shifts.
  • Promote a positive team atmosphere by recognizing shifts in morale or performance and notifying management.
  • Deliver clear, specific, and timely coaching to improve partner performance and ensure operational excellence.
  • Offer exceptional customer service, focusing on customer-first attitudes and meaningful connections.
  • Identify and address customer needs effectively.
  • Build strong relationships within the shift team by understanding individual motivations and concerns.
  • Manage and execute store opening and closing duties as required.
  • Adhere rigorously to Starbucks policies, including cash handling, safety, and security standards to protect partners.
  • Ensure the cash management practices are properly followed by the team.
  • Check in with baristas throughout the shift to maintain service quality.
  • Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance.
  • Consistently prepare beverages and food offering according to Starbucks recipe and presentation standards.
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures diligently.
  • Recognize and celebrate team and individual achievements using company tools and collaborate with Store Manager to create recognition programs.
  • Utilize operational resources to achieve shift excellence.

Experience and Skills

  • Prior customer service experience within retail or dining sectors.
  • Capability to lead and direct others effectively.
  • Quick learner with strong oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with retail operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in a team setting.
