Service Technician - Australia

Overview

Location and Working Hours

Work locations include various regional areas across Australia (Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania). This is not a fly-in fly-out position; candidates must reside locally in these regions. Working hours are typically eight hours per day. On-call weekend duty arises about once every 3-4 weeks, and average annual travel amounts to roughly 50 days.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to the highest safety and environmental protocols while achieving service objectives
• Conduct scheduled service inspections and perform repairs, replacements, and troubleshooting in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems per Vestas standards
• Operate and monitor turbines using condition monitoring and remote control systems to ensure smooth functionality
• Maintain service vehicles and warehouse inventory by appropriately ordering materials, tools, and spare parts
• Assemble and maintain components using current standards and work instructions, including the safe operation of cranes when necessary

Qualifications and Competencies

• Trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic disciplines combined with enthusiasm for skill development
• Sufficient computer literacy to manage monitoring systems and work-related documentation
• Proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written
• Possession of a valid driver's license
• Strong commitment to rigorous health and safety practices
• Capability to climb wind turbines and carry out physically demanding tasks under variable weather conditions
• Willingness to travel to different sites as required
• Enjoyment of teamwork and effective communication with various stakeholders, integrating with field and broader business teams
• Independent, organized, and solution-focused work approach
