Senior Vice President - Design & Construction, Data Centers APAC

About the Role

A leading digital infrastructure company is expanding its operations and seeks a senior executive to lead the strategy, execution, and scaling of its data center design and construction efforts across the Asia-Pacific region. This role involves overseeing the development and delivery of mission-critical hyperscale and edge data center projects in multiple countries, with a focus on reliability, cost efficiency, and fast market entry.

Primary Responsibilities

• Formulate and deploy the regional delivery strategy for design and construction across APAC, including scalable governance, standards, and operational processes.
• Lead simultaneous hyperscale and edge data center projects ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery aligned with business goals.
• Manage large capital investment programs, optimizing capital efficiency and negotiating major contracts and commercial agreements.
• Establish and maintain resilient supply chains and strategic partnerships with contractors, consultants, and suppliers throughout the region.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure scalable, standardized infrastructure design and incorporation of cutting-edge technologies such as AI infrastructure and liquid cooling.
• Build and guide a high-performing regional team, focusing on leadership development, succession planning, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Serve as primary liaison between project teams, executive leadership, investors, regulators, and customers, aligning construction efforts with broader company objectives.
• Ensure comprehensive risk management, regulatory compliance, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards across all projects.
• Define and implement regional commissioning procedures to ensure quality, operational readiness, and effective handover of all data center facilities.

Candidate Profile

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Construction Management or related fields; advanced qualifications preferred.
• 15-20+ years of progressive leadership experience managing large-scale infrastructure or mission-critical data center construction projects.
• Proven track record in leading multi-country projects and scaling regional delivery organizations.
• Strong knowledge of APAC market regulations, labor, procurement, and supply chain dynamics.
• Deep expertise in datacenter infrastructure systems including electrical, mechanical, cooling, redundancy architectures, and commissioning.
• Extensive experience in commercial negotiations, EPC contracts, supplier relationship management, and procurement frameworks.
• Preferred experience with hyperscale, cloud, AI, or mission-critical infrastructure development.
