Overview
DHL Supply Chain seeks a Senior Transportation Manager to lead the dedicated delivery operations in the Automotive, Engineering, and Manufacturing verticals. This hands-on leadership role involves full ownership of a dynamic domestic transportation network based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This position demands strong financial acumen including P&L management to optimize budgets, control expenses, and enhance financial outcomes. The title equates internally to a General Manager role. Joining DHL means contributing directly to consistent supply chain operations where unforeseen events do not hinder customers' product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and leverage capabilities of Transportation Fleet Software and Transport Management Systems (TMS).
- Utilize transportation tools for data management, reporting, delivery tracking, notifications, and provide end-to-end visibility.
- Manage and optimize a complex, large-scale transportation network.
- Streamline operations for a dedicated fleet exceeding 150 trucks across the nation.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with carrier providers involved in over 1,600 weekly deliveries.
- Collaborate with DHL internal teams such as Columbus Control Tower, Equipment, and Transportation IT to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee a multi-modal delivery network including dedicated multi-stop freight, carrier multi-stop, and straight truck operations.
- Lead carrier procurement processes and Request For Proposal (RFP) for a diversified transportation network.
- Ensure compliance with customer and vendor contractual requirements.
- Monitor service levels and customer satisfaction related to contract adherence and DHL corporate performance standards, including balanced scorecard metrics.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience in transportation management roles.
- Proven experience managing dedicated delivery within a 3PL context is highly favored.
- Demonstrated capability in managing driver teams effectively.
