Role Overview
The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for managing indirect tax compliance across several countries. This role sits within the Tax team and covers the full cycle of preparing and submitting VAT, GST, and sales tax filings for a fast-growing global Merchant of Record platform.
This position suits someone who enjoys blending technical tax knowledge with automation, process optimization, and collaboration across functions in a dynamic FinTech setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle the preparation and submission of VAT, GST, and sales tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
- Work with external tax consultants to support accurate and timely compliance.
- Review transaction data, resolve mismatches, and identify ways to make tax processes more efficient.
- Track developments in international tax laws and evaluate how they affect Reach.
- Assist internal stakeholders with tax questions and compliance-related guidance.
- Support automation projects and AI-enabled tax workflows.
- Collaborate with Data, Operations, and Finance teams to strengthen tax reporting and process design.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in indirect tax or tax accounting.
- Hands-on experience with multi-jurisdiction VAT, GST, or sales tax compliance.
- Solid grasp of indirect tax concepts and principles.
- A degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a closely related field.
- Strong analytical ability with a sharp eye for detail.
- Ability to work on your own and manage several deadlines at once.
- Genuine interest in AI-supported workflows and process automation.
Nice to Have
- Professional accounting or tax qualification, completed or in progress.
- Experience at a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm.
- Background in supporting tax audits.
- Exposure to US sales tax matters.
- Experience working with external tax advisors.
- Prior experience in FinTech, ecommerce, or startup environments.
