Job description

About the company

foodpanda is part of Delivery Hero Group, a global local-delivery platform operating in more than 70 countries. Its headquarters are in Berlin, Germany. Delivery Hero has been publicly listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 2017 and is included in the MDAX index.

Role overview

The company is hiring a highly analytical, outcomes-focused Senior Specialist, Rider Payments to join its regional logistics team in Singapore. This position will shape rider pay and incentive approaches across 16 markets, balancing operational performance, rider satisfaction, and commercial discipline.

You will work at the intersection of strategy and execution, using data to improve rider earnings, strengthen fleet retention, and support logistics efficiency while protecting financial sustainability.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, refine, and govern rider payment and incentive structures, including frameworks that keep regional policies aligned while still accommodating local market needs.
  • Ensure payment models support wider business objectives, logistics KPIs such as delivery time, and rider satisfaction.
  • Track the financial effect of pay models, including cost-per-order movement, and help ensure incentives remain compatible with profitability targets.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to spot trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities in rider payments and logistics operations, then convert findings into practical recommendations.
  • Lead regional rollout of data science models and automation tools that improve rider payments and operational efficiency.
  • Propose and test new approaches to payment design, such as dynamic pricing, surge-based mechanisms, and quest-style incentives, to improve logistics performance and order acceptance.
  • Collaborate with Central Product to shape payment-related product features, translate business needs into product requirements, support testing, and help drive adoption across markets.
  • Partner with operations, finance, product, and local logistics teams to understand market-specific challenges and implement scalable incentive solutions.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a fast-growing technology environment, logistics, strategy consulting, or investment banking; experience in gig economy, marketplace, or logistics businesses is an advantage.
  • A university degree in STEM, Economics, Business, or another quantitative discipline.
  • Strong working ability in Excel, SQL, and Looker, with the confidence to analyze data independently and build reliable models.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, plus the ability to challenge ideas constructively and communicate with senior stakeholders and leadership.

Ideal candidate profile

This role suits someone who is commercially minded, highly analytical, comfortable working across teams and markets, and motivated by improving both operational results and rider outcomes through data-led decision-making.
