Job description

About the role

This role sits within the engineering team at Easygo, where the focus is on building premium entertainment products at scale. The environment is designed for engineers who enjoy continuous learning, strong technical standards, and solving difficult system-level problems. The position is ideal for someone with fintech experience who wants to contribute to high-impact payment and fraud capabilities in a fast-moving product setting.

Why this opportunity stands out

  • Take on complex engineering challenges that call for thoughtful, scalable solutions.
  • Grow through mentorship, structured learning, and practical experience.
  • Work with highly skilled engineers and contribute ideas in a collaborative environment.
  • Join a culture that values development, support, and engineering excellence.
  • Help build products that contribute to the future of entertainment.

What you'll do

You will help design and improve the payments and fraud stack, working with external payment providers as well as internal systems. The role combines system architecture, hands-on software development, performance improvement, and technical guidance for teammates.

  • Design and architect payments infrastructure in coordination with third-party gateways/providers and internal platforms.
  • Build scalable and high-performance payment systems that align with business and technical standards.
  • Improve existing services by removing bottlenecks and strengthening reliability, scalability, and speed.
  • Write production-quality code and stay actively involved in development work.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and communicate technical progress clearly.
  • Lead technically and support junior engineers through mentoring and guidance.

What we're looking for

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • At least 7 years of software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on scalable systems.
  • At least 2 years of technical leadership experience in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of multiple programming languages and relevant frameworks.
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and provide technical direction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability for difficult technical issues.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work well across teams and stakeholders.

Preferred background

  • Experience building global payments platforms for gaming or entertainment businesses.
  • Prior work with payment processors, payment gateways, or comparable transaction systems.
  • Understanding of PCI-DSS requirements in payment environments.
  • Experience developing fraud tools such as decision engines, rule systems, or chargeback tooling.

Perks and benefits

  • Opportunity to help drive engineering excellence across the organisation.
  • Access to a modern cloud-native stack including AWS, microservices, distributed systems, Kafka, Kubernetes, Terraform, Golang, ArgoCD, Datadog, and Cloudflare.
  • Exposure to very high-volume products processing thousands of requests per second, with around 4 billion requests per day.
  • Access to more than 9,000 learning and development courses.
  • Employee assistance programme coverage for you and your family.
  • Competitive annual bonus potential.
  • One paid volunteer day each year.
  • Daily breakfast, unlimited snacks, and refreshments in the office.
  • On-site remedial massage every Wednesday.
  • Full-time in-house barista service.
  • Weekly team lunches and Friday happy hour from 4 pm.
  • Up to 2 days working from home per week.
  • Office amenities including pool tables, table tennis, and gaming consoles.
