This Senior Sales Performance Consultant position is based in Mountain View, CA (with potential bases in NYC, Chicago, Omaha, San Francisco, or Sunnyvale). The role follows a hybrid work model balancing home and office presence depending on team needs. This role requires a passion for closing skill gaps and optimizing processes by collaborating with leaders across Deal Desk, Sales Operations, Pricing, Finance, Legal, and Global Sales Enablement to accelerate deal velocity and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Deal Desk senior leadership to diagnose and resolve skill, knowledge, and operational inefficiencies.
- Utilize quantitative and qualitative data analysis to identify bottlenecks, process friction points, skill gaps, and technology shortcomings within the entire deal lifecycle—from quoting to closing.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance skill development and process effectiveness, aiming for improved deal cycle times, quote accuracy, approval speed, and compliance.
- Work jointly with Enablement leaders to design, build, and deliver training programs, playbooks, workshops, job aids, and reinforcement content that address skill shortages and promote process adoption.
- Measure the impact of skill-building initiatives and calculate enablement ROI in collaboration with Sales Operations and Finance teams.
- Influence key stakeholders to adopt standardized deal processes and maintain continuous improvement through consistent feedback cycles.
- Engage with senior stakeholders across multiple departments to build coalitions and secure executive sponsorships.
- Implement innovative use of enablement and workflow technologies to identify knowledge gaps, reduce friction, and enhance learning reinforcement.
- Lead change management efforts by ensuring cross-functional alignment, obtaining buy-in, and deploying durable skill and process improvement strategies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of combined experience in Deal Desk, sales operations, sales enablement, process improvement, change management, or consulting.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Preferred: Over 5 years of sales enablement experience and at least 3 years in Deal Desk, quote-to-cash, or sales operations environments.
- Demonstrated exceptional communication skills capable of influencing executives without direct authority.
- Proven ability to operate within complex, matrixed, fast-paced organizations through cross-functional collaboration.
- Expertise in behavior/skill change management, particularly in deal execution or quote-to-cash processes.
- Strong data analysis capabilities focused on unearthing skill gaps and process inefficiencies.
- Familiarity with adult learning and instructional design principles and creating effective skill development programs.
- Proven project and program management skills for independently leading skill-building or process improvement initiatives.
- Resourceful problem-solver with the ability to break down complex problems and propose business-priority-aligned solutions.
- Comfortable facilitating and public speaking to command audience attention.
- Fluency with machine learning and AI tools, CPQ/deal desk software, Learning Management Systems, AI-driven sales enablement platforms, project management tools, and advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
