Role Overview

We are seeking experienced Senior Rust Engineers who excel in systems programming and are passionate about crafting high-performance, secure, and scalable software solutions. This position offers the opportunity to take full ownership over complex technical projects and promote engineering excellence in critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services and distributed systems using Rust, emphasizing memory safety.
• Write efficient concurrent code adhering to strong systems programming principles.
• Build and maintain asynchronous services leveraging frameworks like Tokio and mastery of async/await paradigms.
• Utilize core Rust features such as ownership, borrow checker, lifetimes, traits, and macros to produce robust and idiomatic code.
• Provide technical leadership by steering architectural decisions and raising standards across engineering projects.
• Identify and resolve complex architectural and coding issues in production environments.
• Lead best practice development, tooling enhancement, and continuous improvement efforts in engineering workflows.
• Manage git workflows and CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and reliable software delivery.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software development, with demonstrable expertise in Rust programming.
• Comprehensive understanding of Rust fundamentals, including ownership, borrow checking, lifetimes, traits, and macros.
• Strong background in systems programming involving multithreading, concurrency, and performance-sensitive applications.
• Proficiency in asynchronous Rust programming, particularly using the Tokio framework.
• Familiarity with Rust tooling ecosystem including Cargo, modern git practices, and CI/CD infrastructure.
• Proven success in architecting and implementing backend services built for scalability and distributed operation.
• Strong analytical abilities and a proven history of solving complex technical and architectural challenges.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced remote environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with video processing technologies, real-time systems, or web container environments.
• Working knowledge of WebRTC and real-time system responsiveness.
• Experience publishing applications across multiple platforms.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate overlapping schedules with teams across global time zones.

Additional Information

• Daily overlap of 5 to 6 hours with US Pacific Time zone is expected.
