Job description
The opportunity
An established opening is available for an experienced recruiter to take full ownership of a busy Trades & Labour desk covering Galway and Limerick. The role sits within a strong, high-velocity market with well-developed client relationships, an active daybook, and immediate potential to generate revenue.
You will support major construction and infrastructure employers by placing skilled trades professionals into significant projects across the region. Because demand in the market remains strong, there is clear scope to expand existing accounts, secure new business, and progress your career while building your profile as a specialist in the construction and trades sector.
You will be backed by a manager with more than 25 years of market knowledge, giving you the freedom to shape the desk while still having experienced support. This is suited to a recruiter who already has agency experience and is ideally familiar with construction, trades, or a related market.
What the role involves
- Running a 360 recruitment desk dedicated to Trades & Labour hiring.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with construction, engineering, and infrastructure clients throughout the region.
- Finding and placing skilled trades candidates, including in-demand roles such as electricians.
- Creating and delivering business development plans that support desk growth.
- Handling the recruitment process from first contact through to placement and follow-up.
- Building strong market knowledge and establishing yourself as a trusted specialist in the sector.
- Strengthening existing accounts while identifying and converting new commercial opportunities.
- Managing and growing a temporary worker daybook.
- Supporting wider team projects and sharing effective practices across the business.
What you need to bring
- A demonstrable background in agency recruitment.
- Previous experience in Construction, Trades & Labour, or a closely related recruitment market would be a strong advantage.
- Confidence in business development and relationship management.
- The ability to work effectively in a busy, high-volume environment.
- A consultative style when dealing with both clients and candidates.
- Commercial awareness, drive, and a strong sense of ambition.
- Solid organisational ability and stakeholder management skills.
- A team-oriented approach and a long-term career mindset.
Why this opportunity stands out
- Take charge of a proven desk with an active daybook and immediate revenue opportunities.
- Work in a strong, high-demand market with meaningful room for growth.
- Access industry-leading recruitment technology and training.
- Benefit from flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
- Follow clear pathways for progression.
- Enjoy market-leading incentives and recognition schemes.
- Join a collaborative, high-performing environment where success is recognised.
- Receive comprehensive wellbeing support and employee benefits.
