Role overview

This opportunity is for an accomplished recruiter to drive large, project-based hiring programs across a wide multi-state region. The main focus is on attracting strong commercial talent, including sales, account management, business development, and leadership profiles at levels reaching VP.

The position suits someone who performs well in fast-moving, heavily cross-functional organizations and who can balance urgency, senior stakeholder expectations, and a consistently high hiring standard.

Core responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end recruitment for a broad set of commercial positions, from kickoff conversations through offer management, while supporting hiring across a large regional territory.
  • Work closely with regional executives and senior leaders, including VP-level stakeholders, to design and execute hiring plans that support business expansion goals.
  • Handle a substantial requisition volume without compromising candidate quality, candidate experience, or hiring speed.
  • Recruit for commercial teams covering sales, account management, field operations, and senior commercial leadership roles.
  • Build effective working relationships across functions in a complex matrixed organization.
  • Operate with strong urgency and accuracy when priorities shift quickly and deadlines are tight.
  • Create targeted sourcing plans to identify and engage high-caliber commercial candidates across different regions and markets.
  • Deliver market insights such as compensation benchmarks, competitor intelligence, and regional talent availability.
  • Set up structured interview workflows that are scalable and support consistent hiring decisions.
  • Identify hiring blockers early and take action to keep recruiting progress aligned with business targets.
  • Partner with HR, compensation, onboarding, and recruiting operations teams to ensure smooth execution throughout the hiring process.
  • Monitor, interpret, and share recruiting metrics such as pipeline health, time to fill, and offer acceptance rates to support decision-making and updates to stakeholders.

Experience and skill requirements

  • At least 5–8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, particularly in commercial or revenue-focused hiring.
  • Proven ability to recruit across large geographic areas and coordinate with distributed stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting hiring needs for leadership roles up to VP level.
  • Strong history of managing high-volume recruiting demands while meeting ambitious timelines.
  • Well-developed stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to work with senior business leaders.
  • Comfort operating in complex, fast-paced, highly matrixed environments.
  • Advanced sourcing and talent mapping skills across multiple markets.
  • Solid business understanding, especially in sales and business development functions.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building capability.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
  • Must be based in Chicago, IL, the surrounding area, or willing to relocate for the assignment.

Preferred background

  • Experience supporting regional expansion, market launches, or fast-growth commercial organizations.
  • Background in project-based, contract, or RPO recruiting environments.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and recruiting analytics platforms.
  • Experience recruiting for both field-based and corporate commercial positions.
