About the Role
This position is located onsite in Abu Dhabi and involves a critical role in designing and executing risk-focused testing strategies for complex fintech systems. The engineer will drive end-to-end automation efforts and risk assessment to ensure robust quality controls over core business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement thorough test plans prioritizing risk-based testing alongside automation for both backend microservices and frontend applications.
- Analyze and rank quality risks within multifaceted financial technology environments, paying particular attention to essential workflows such as payments, lending, and risk mitigation.
- Build and sustain scalable and reusable automation frameworks that integrate efficiently with CI/CD processes to maintain strong regression testing coverage.
- Conduct performance, load, and stress tests to proactively uncover system limitations and scalability issues.
- Identify root causes in complex distributed microservice architectures by debugging and tracing extended call sequences to uncover risk areas.
- Use system logs, metrics, and distributed tracing technologies to monitor and reduce quality and performance risks.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, product management, and risk units to ensure testing aligns with business objectives and compliance standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- At least 5 years of QA experience in large-scale backend systems with emphasis on distributed and microservices architecture.
- Demonstrated expertise in automation testing, including API and data validation automation, as well as integration testing.
- Deep knowledge of risk-based testing models and assurance practices tailored for high-availability environments.
- Strong background in API testing, thorough database validations, and performance testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Python or Java.
- Insight into asynchronous processing and message queue technologies like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Excellent analytical and debugging skills focused on identifying systemic risks and performance bottlenecks.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
