Role overview
This position sits within the purchasing function and focuses on managing buying activities tied to TCS components through both the pre-launch and post-launch phases. The role supports program teams, suppliers, and customers by handling data and quotation management, contract discussions, tooling timelines, change request/change notice flow, profile management, and overall launch readiness.
What you will do
- Own direct commodity buying responsibilities and provide leadership support within the team.
- Use strong judgment and broad experience to plan and execute strategic purchasing objectives.
- Lead negotiations for long-term agreements and annual savings targets in line with expectations.
- Build commodity strategies that deliver measurable results.
- Apply knowledge of commercial terms and total cost management principles.

Qualifications and capabilities
- Requires substantial experience, discipline, and independence to successfully close purchasing objectives.

- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or equivalent experience is expected.

- Familiarity with commercial terms and performance-to-target concepts is required.
- The role calls for a results-oriented, proactive mindset from program start through launch.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and presentation skills are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is needed.
- Ability to lead within a team and build strong internal and external working relationships is important.
- High integrity, strong prioritization, and excellent time management are expected.
- You must work well in a fast-moving, highly productive environment and resolve conflict effectively while preserving relationships.
- Ability to prioritize work independently and focus on the most critical tasks is essential.
Preferred experience
- An MBA is considered an advantage.
- Automotive cross-functional experience is recommended.
- Exposure to electronic and thermo comfort commodities is a plus.
- Prior SAP ERP experience is also beneficial.
