Job description

About roadsurfer

roadsurfer is recognized as Europe's largest campervan rental company, continuously expanding its offerings including rental, subscription, and sales of campervans, alongside an innovative platform for booking unique camping spots. The company's philosophy encourages adventure and happiness through its services, fostering a vibrant and fast-growing environment.

Your Mission

As a Procurement Teamlead, you will spearhead the establishment and optimization of the procurement function within a rapidly expanding company managing over 10,000 vehicles and around 100 stations across 15 countries. Your leadership will be crucial in professionalizing purchasing processes, developing an internal spare parts supply chain for stations, and guiding the integration of a new ERP system (SAP) to support these operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to foster autonomy and accountability.
  • Act as the primary procurement contact for the SAP implementation project, overseeing requirements gathering, process design (Purchase-to-Pay), testing, data migration, and go-live activities.
  • Enhance the internal spare parts supply chain by managing assortment, supplier relationships, stock control, minimum inventory levels, and distribution strategies to support Maintenance & Repair teams on-site.
  • Standardize and codify procurement processes, policies, and approval workflows, ensuring their seamless transition into the new ERP system.
  • Manage supplier selection, evaluation, development, and handle contract and condition negotiations.
  • Lead negotiation efforts on strategically important product groups to achieve measurable cost savings.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Fleet, Operations, Legal, and IT departments, representing procurement viewpoints in cross-functional projects.
  • Promote adoption of artificial intelligence and automation technologies (e.g., n8n workflows, AI-driven analytics) to streamline processes and reduce routine workloads for the team.
  • Establish procurement KPIs and utilize data-driven approaches to monitor savings, delivery reliability, and process cycle times.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Several years of experience in strategic or operational procurement, including proven leadership of a team.
  • Fluency in German and English.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP modules (e.g., MM, Ariba) or demonstrable involvement in ERP system implementations, ideally both.
  • Profound knowledge of end-to-end procurement processes (Purchase-to-Pay) with the capability to standardize and digitize workflows.
  • Experience in building or managing supply chains or spare parts/material supply systems, covering product assortment, stock management, inventory control, and distribution methods is advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation abilities, excellent supplier relationship management skills, and business-oriented cost awareness.
  • Structured and analytical working style with proficiency handling data and KPIs.
  • Proactive and hands-on attitude, eager to contribute in a fast-scaling environment rather than merely maintaining existing structures.
  • High interest and motivation to apply AI and automation tools to improve procurement efficiency.

Additional Benefits

  • Experience an open, collegial atmosphere with flat hierarchies, abundant team spirit, and enjoyable team events such as sports sessions, barbecues, and casual evening gatherings.
  • Participate in an exchange program allowing you to work at any of the company’s European locations for up to four weeks annually.
  • Enjoy a yearly campervan usage allowance, enabling you to embrace the #happyroadsurfing lifestyle first-hand.
  • Benefit from a Jobrad program to support your fitness and mobility.
  • Access corporate benefits including discounts through a travel industry card and perks extended to family and friends.

Remuneration

The salary band for this role is up to 65000 EUR gross per annum.
