Company Overview

KIDS IN TOURISM GHANA works to help children and young people connect with Ghana’s cultural heritage, tourism attractions, and environmental responsibility through learning-focused programs and guided experiences. Its activities are designed for the right age groups, with an emphasis on curiosity, education, and responsible travel. The organization partners with schools, local communities, and industry stakeholders to deliver experiences that are safe, engaging, and meaningful for children.

Role Summary

This full-time, on-site position in Accra is responsible for coordinating tourism and educational projects for children and youth from start to finish. The Senior Project Coordinator will manage timelines, budgets, resources, and delivery standards so that activities run safely, on time, and to the expected quality. The role also supports communication with stakeholders and helps strengthen future program delivery through process improvement.

Key Duties

In this role, you will oversee the planning and day-to-day coordination of tours, events, and related project activities. You will handle logistics, work with schools, partners, and suppliers, prepare project records and reports, and monitor progress against goals. The position also includes supervising project teams, carrying out site checks at venues and activity locations, managing compliance and risk, and supporting the design and improvement of programs.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in project coordination or project management, with the ability to plan, schedule, track, and close activities effectively. Experience in expediting follow-ups, managing deliverables, and reducing delays is important. You should also be comfortable inspecting sites and services for safety, quality, and compliance, and managing logistics such as transport, venues, materials, and participant movement.

Strong communication and people skills are needed for working with children, parents, schools, partners, and internal teams. The role requires someone who can lead small teams, handle several projects at once, prioritize under pressure, and maintain attention to detail. A proactive mindset toward problem-solving, risk control, and contingency planning is essential.

A bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Tourism, Education, Business, or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent experience may also be considered. Experience in tourism, education, or the nonprofit sector in Ghana will be an added advantage.
