Job description
About the Company
Playlist is focused on helping people spend less time on screens and more time moving, connecting, exploring, and enjoying life. The company builds a platform designed around intentional living, bringing together experiences in fitness, wellness, and related areas. Through brands such as Mindbody and ClassPass, Playlist supports both businesses and consumers by making it easier to turn goals into real-world action.
About the Team
The Mindbody team powers a widely used global platform for fitness, beauty, and wellness businesses. For more than 25 years, it has helped organizations run their operations, serve clients smoothly, and grow their business. The platform serves everyone from independent studios to large brands such as Orange Theory Fitness, Drybar, SoulCycle, Burn Boot Camp, and others.
About the Role
This role is for a Senior Product Designer who will help modernize and improve consumer web booking experiences. It is a high-impact, strategic position suited to someone who enjoys complex systems and is skilled at creating elegant, scalable, customer-focused solutions. As a design leader, you will help define product direction, influence long-term vision, and contribute to execution across an important surface used by millions of users.
You should bring strong product judgment, systems thinking, and a high standard of craft. The role calls for someone who can dive deep into interaction details when needed and step back to shape broader platform strategy. You will partner with cross-functional leaders and help shape how wellness seekers find and book services that support their goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full design process for the branded mobile app on iOS and Android, and help establish a consistent modern experience across appointment, class, and checkout journeys.
- Identify friction points, spot new opportunities, and use strategic thinking to improve conversion and customer satisfaction.
- Work with product, engineering, and marketing to define success measures, connect user needs with business objectives, and influence roadmap decisions.
- Design with native platform conventions in mind while preserving a unified product experience across both operating systems.
- Build for white-label scale by creating theming systems, design tokens, and configuration-based patterns that adapt across many brands without losing quality or consistency.
- Develop reusable design frameworks that strengthen usability and performance throughout the booking funnel.
- Present concepts effectively through polished prototypes, clear narratives, and strong stakeholder communication.
- Promote design quality through critique, iteration, and a consistently high bar for visual and interaction design.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and broader business objectives.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of product design experience, with a strong history of leading consumer mobile products on iOS and Android; booking, scheduling, or checkout/e-commerce work is a strong advantage.
- A polished mobile craft portfolio with apps shipped to the App Store and Play Store, including thoughtful handling of edge cases such as offline use, failed checkouts, and slow connections.
- Strong user empathy and sound product intuition supported by both qualitative and quantitative input.
- The ability to move comfortably between big-picture systems thinking and detailed interface execution.
- Experience designing scalable or multi-brand white-label products and leading cross-functional work through ambiguity.
- Confidence as a design partner who strengthens team output through feedback, coaching, and systems leadership.
- Ability to turn complex business requirements into simple, human-centered experiences that produce measurable results.
- Passion for helping people live healthier lives through thoughtful digital product design.
- The role is open to applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences; the company encourages people from all communities and identities to apply.
- The employer is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability, or other protected characteristics.
