Job description

About the Project

The Woodfibre LNG Project is being developed around 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It covers the construction and operation of an LNG export facility on the former Woodfibre pulp mill site, with storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and annual LNG output of about 2.1 million tons.

Woodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately owned Canadian business headquartered in Vancouver and operating as a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.

About the Role

Woodfibre LNG is looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to strengthen its Operations team during the operational readiness phase. The role is responsible for full-cycle procurement and contracting support for plant operations, maintenance, and reliability programs, helping ensure timely access to the materials and services needed for smooth site operation.

Working with SAP and broader supply chain processes, this position spans procurement planning, sourcing strategy, award support, contract administration, and supplier relationship management. The role also supports operational excellence efforts and initiatives that improve relationships with local and Indigenous suppliers. The successful candidate will report to the Supply Chain Manager, Operations and will be based in the Vancouver office, with travel to Squamish, British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day procurement and contract activities that support LNG plant operations, including sourcing of goods and services, logistics, OEM requirements, maintenance and repair services, turnaround work, and facility-related agreements.
  • Drive procurement and contracting work aligned to business needs by understanding internal demand, reviewing the market, creating go-to-market recommendations, preparing RFP packages, and carrying out commitments using established procedures and templates.
  • Assess supplier fit against company vendor qualification standards and keep organized records of approved, active, and prospective suppliers by commodity or service.
  • Plan and run formal RFx processes for major purchases and long-term supply arrangements.
  • Conduct pre-bid and pre-award meetings, evaluate bids against schedule, cost, terms and conditions, HSSE, and quality expectations, and prepare award evaluations for approval.
  • Track procurement progress and contract completion status for the team members and workstreams being supported.
  • Provide contract administration and supplier performance support, including follow-up on contract management plans and coordination of key performance indicators.
  • Partner with the Vice President, Procurement and Supply Chain on SAP implementation by helping develop or update end-to-end Procure-to-Pay documentation to match configured SAP functionality.
  • Manage engagement with external stakeholders and coordinate procurement and contract planning deliverables with them.

Requirements

  • More than 10 years of practical experience in operations procurement and supply chain, ideally in refineries, petrochemical operations, or a similar manufacturing environment, with direct involvement in procurement and contract management for OEM service, repairs, maintenance, and turnaround contracts.
  • Working knowledge of the Canadian market, particularly the British Columbia labour market, business practices, and local communities, is an advantage.
  • An undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or Accounting & Finance, or a relevant professional certification, is preferred.
  • Experience in oil and gas projects or materials management is a strong plus.
  • Background in large, multi-disciplinary, multicultural teams and contractor environments is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal ability for engagement across all levels, from front-line staff to senior leadership.
  • Accountable, dependable, and committed to delivering tasks and targets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working under pressure, handling multiple priorities, and adjusting to tight deadlines.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and team accountability.
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Proficiency with common business software, including MS Office and SAP S/4HANA.
  • Self-driven, energetic, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and support the growth of others.
  • Valid driver’s licence with abstract and a passport.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada.
  • Role requires a mix of office-based and site-based work.
