Role Overview

The Senior Planning Engineer position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia requires a seasoned professional to lead project scheduling and coordination activities for mixed-use building developments. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery, cost control, and compliance with regional construction standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and manage comprehensive project timelines using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Work alongside project managers, architects, and stakeholders to determine milestones, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Analyze project data to detect risks, resolve conflicts, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed progress updates, forecasts, and presentations for senior leadership and clients.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental activities to guarantee milestones are achieved on schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective project control systems to monitor schedule progress and budget adherence.
  • Conduct frequent site inspections to evaluate project progress and resolve scheduling issues promptly.
  • Mentor and support junior planning engineers in their professional development.
  • Ensure all activities comply with Saudi Arabian building codes and regulations.
  • Participate in advancing sustainable building techniques and support LEED certification initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline.
  • A minimum of 13 years of relevant experience in planning engineering within mixed-use building projects.
  • Demonstrated success in managing timelines of large-scale construction developments.
  • Advanced skills with project scheduling tools including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Proficiency in BIM software and AutoCAD.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mixed-use building development procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Familiarity with local Saudi Arabia building codes and standards.
  • Awareness of sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an advantage.
  • Capability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced work conditions.
