Role overview
This opportunity is for a Senior People Consultant based in the United States and is being handled by a partner company, which will manage all applications and subsequent steps. The role is central to the People function and serves as a trusted partner to leaders, managers, and employees. It focuses on building a strong, high-performing culture through expert support in employee relations, performance management, and organizational development. The position combines strategic advice with hands-on delivery, helping people programs run smoothly and improve over time. You will work closely with other People teams to create scalable approaches that strengthen team effectiveness and engagement. Success in this role depends on strong judgment, coaching skills, and sound business understanding, all of which contribute directly to organizational health. You will also use people data and workforce insights to support decisions and address challenges proactively in a fast-moving, matrixed environment.
Key accountabilities
- Offer expert advice and coaching to managers and employees on performance management, employee relations, and overall organizational effectiveness.
- Work with leaders to surface development needs, support team health efforts, and put People programs and solutions into action.
- Handle complex employee relations matters, including investigations, policy interpretation, and resolution of workplace concerns.
- Support organizational efforts such as change management, job eliminations, and Diversity & Inclusion programs alongside People partners.
- Review people analytics and workforce metrics to support decisions, spot patterns, and improve business outcomes.
- Help shape and deliver People initiatives that align with business priorities and regional requirements.
- Oversee employee relations workflows and ticketing systems to ensure requests are addressed promptly, compliantly, and with high quality.
What you need to bring
- At least 8 years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, or a related business function, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of direct employee relations experience, including work on performance management and workplace investigations.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. employment and labor law, backed by at least 2 years of practical application.
- Proven ability to coach leaders and shape decisions within a matrixed organization.
- Capability to interpret data and people metrics and use them to support strategic workforce choices.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience supporting organizational change, talent development, and cross-functional People initiatives.
- High emotional intelligence, good judgment, and a proactive, solution-focused approach.
- Familiarity with HR systems, case management platforms, or ticketing tools such as Zendesk or similar software.
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary range of USD 103,200 to USD 273,700 per year.
