Overview

Applied Technology and Management (ATM), a division of Geosyntec Consultants, is seeking a Senior Marine Inspector to join their marine and geotechnical team in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of experience and apply expertise in quality management across geotechnical investigations, inspection of coastal and waterfront structures, and related analyses and design. ATM provides innovative, environmentally conscious, sustainable, and cost-effective consulting solutions globally, supported by an interdisciplinary team of engineering and scientific experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee job site activities to ensure strict adherence to contract terms including technical specifications, construction drawings, and quality assurance plans.
  • Provide on-site support for construction activities involving quay walls and various marine structures along waterways.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of active construction sites to verify compliance and quality.
  • Prepare comprehensive daily and weekly field reports as well as progress documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and consistent project records according to company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate communications among contractors, project managers, engineers, and clients, fostering teamwork through participation in work progress meetings.
  • Adhere strictly to site-specific health and safety protocols and company environmental policies.

Position Details

  • This role involves fieldwork that may require up to 100% time spent on-site.
  • The company provides required health and safety training, including first aid and CPR, as well as medical monitoring.

Qualifications and Education

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Preferred candidates hold an associate or bachelor's degree in science, construction management, engineering, environmental science, or related disciplines.

Experience and Skills

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience is required; 9 or more years is preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of site investigation, construction quality assurance, and management for marine, structural, and coastal projects is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with construction of quay walls or similar marine structures along waterways is required.
  • Capable of supervising multiple construction activities simultaneously.
  • Proficient with Windows-based applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
  • Excellent written communication skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 49 pounds independently, and between 50 to 100 pounds with assistance or engineering controls.
  • Capacity to perform physical activities including standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • A strong motivation to work outdoors and develop a career in engineering consulting.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, demonstrating self-motivation and strong work ethic.
