Job description

About the role

This is a senior technical opportunity for a motivated manufacturing engineer to contribute in a fast-moving, highly automated, and tightly regulated production setting. The position focuses on improving process capability, equipment reliability, quality, throughput, and long-term manufacturing readiness while ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

You will provide technical leadership across manufacturing operations and help deliver engineering solutions that strengthen site performance and capability.

  • Lead the use of manufacturing and automation solutions that improve process capability, equipment performance, product quality, and output.
  • Own the design, setup, qualification, optimisation, and ongoing enhancement of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and control systems.
  • Resolve complex equipment and process issues through structured problem-solving, data analysis, and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Work with operations, quality, maintenance, validation, and engineering partners to implement strong technical solutions across manufacturing systems.
  • Identify and drive improvement initiatives that raise yield, lower cost, expand capacity, and improve overall manufacturing effectiveness.
  • Manage technical projects from concept to deployment, including planning, execution, risk management, and progress reporting.
  • Collaborate across teams to support daily production needs while advancing longer-term engineering priorities.
  • Help shape a high-performance team culture based on collaboration, accountability, Credo values, and expected behavioural standards.
  • Complete Quality System outputs on time, including CAPAs, non-conformances, audit actions, change controls, and supporting technical records.
  • Embed safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements into the design, procurement, modification, and use of manufacturing equipment.
  • Contribute to strategic engineering objectives, technology plans, and site capability-building activities.
  • Support broader plant and engineering initiatives by applying technical expertise, urgency, and strong execution focus to key business priorities.
  • Promote environmental, health, and safety excellence by ensuring work is performed responsibly and in accordance with site and company standards.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Process, Automation, or a related engineering field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing setting, preferably medical devices or another highly controlled environment, with a solid understanding of validation, compliance, and quality systems.
  • Background in a senior or highly technical manufacturing engineering position, ideally in a high-volume automated production environment.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver results in a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across multiple functions and levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail, sound technical judgement, and disciplined documentation habits.
  • Strong analytical ability and experimental problem-solving skills, with experience using data, engineering principles, and structured methods to improve productivity, quality, and yield.
  • Capability to mentor engineers, technicians, and cross-functional colleagues while serving as an escalation point for complex manufacturing issues.
  • Ability to assess risk, make sound technical decisions, and prioritise work according to business, quality, and operational needs.
  • Proactive, resilient, and hands-on working style with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Demonstrated ability to support long-term manufacturing capability through innovation, technology adoption, and continuous improvement leadership.
