Job description

About the Role

This position sits within a trust and safety investigations group that works to detect, investigate, and disrupt advanced abuse affecting a professional networking platform and its members. The team is distributed across the Bay Area and remote locations in the United States, and this role is based on a hybrid schedule at the Mountain View, CA campus.

The company’s flexible work model emphasizes trust, strong collaboration, clear expectations, and adaptability to business needs. The organization also highlights a culture centered on care, inclusion, and growth for employees.

What You Will Do

  • Lead a group of technical investigators handling adversarial threats through incident response, proactive threat hunting, and root-cause analysis of sophisticated abuse.
  • Set the team’s strategic priorities and establish clear objectives, success measures, and impact metrics for investigations tied to trust and safety goals.
  • Ensure the team delivers high-quality, high-volume, precise, and innovative investigative work that improves enforcement accuracy and surfaces actionable weaknesses.
  • Work closely with senior individual contributors and leaders across engineering, data science, product, trust engineering, and policy to align investigation work with broader research and development priorities.
  • Build and evolve an AI-first investigative approach that keeps pace with changing adversarial behavior and supports both partnered and independent analysis.
  • Communicate findings, incident outcomes, and root-cause analyses to executives and cross-functional partners in a way that supports quick and informed decisions during high-risk abuse situations.
  • Coach and mentor individual contributors on technical execution, operational effectiveness, and organizational growth so they can strengthen their capabilities and contributions.
  • Drive trend analysis and research-backed decision-making to improve fraud prevention and abuse mitigation across the organization.

What We Are Looking For

  • A bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, criminal justice, or another related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
  • At least 3 years of people management experience in security operations, threat intelligence, or trust and safety investigations.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience handling fraud, scams, account abuse, content abuse, or targeted threat activity.
  • Experience using all-source investigation methods with both structured and unstructured data in a security or trust-focused environment.

Preferred Background

  • A master’s degree in cybersecurity, criminal justice, or a related technical discipline.
  • 9 or more years of experience across one or more of the following areas: content moderation and policy enforcement, counter-fraud, or financial crime enforcement.
  • Strong technical judgment and the ability to convert data and investigation outcomes into practical recommendations for engineering, AI, and senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience developing senior individual contributors and building high-performing teams.
  • Experience proactively hunting for fraud and large-scale threats.
  • Experience leading distributed teams across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Ability to manage complex cross-functional dependencies and drive collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Experience leading projects with enterprise-wide impact or multiple cross-functional stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is USD 155,000 to USD 257,000 per year. Total compensation may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, benefits, and/or other incentive compensation plans.

The organization also offers health and wellness programs along with paid time away for employees at all levels.
