About the Role
This opportunity is presented on behalf of a partner company seeking an experienced Senior Manager of People Experience based in the United States. This strategic and hands-on HR leadership position is tailored for an accomplished People professional passionate about designing scalable programs and collaborating closely with business leaders.
Serving as a trusted advisor to global research and development teams, the role drives significant people initiatives within a dynamic technology organization. This position integrates strategic HR partnerships with practical implementation, addressing areas like employee relations, workforce planning, organizational design, and talent programs. Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary HR Business Partner for global R&D, fostering trusted relationships with engineering and product leaders.
- Gain comprehensive insight into team structures, organizational needs, culture, and workforce dynamics to offer effective HR guidance.
- Advise leadership on organizational design, role definition, team dynamics, leadership growth, and employee engagement strategies.
- Assist workforce planning and headcount management collaboratively with leadership and talent acquisition.
- Handle employee relations within U.S. teams, overseeing investigations, performance improvement plans, conflict resolution, and separations.
- Ensure consistent documentation of employee relations processes aligned with multi-state employment laws.
- Coach managers on sensitive discussions with empathy, clarity, and sound judgment.
- Support company-wide HR initiatives including performance management, engagement activities, compensation cycles, and managerial effectiveness programs.
- Collaborate on talent reviews, promotions, calibrations, and compensation strategy.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on hiring processes, offer strategies, equity evaluations, and supporting hiring managers.
- Support HR technology deployment covering job architecture, data integrity, and organizational leveling.
- Own the development and refinement of job architecture and leveling frameworks to maintain consistency.
- Lead strategic HR projects and contribute to leadership development and manager training initiatives.
- Design scalable People programs to support organizational expansion and employee success.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years dedicated as an HR Business Partner.
- Proven track record supporting technical groups such as engineering, product, or R&D.
- Expertise in employee relations encompassing investigations, performance management, difficult conversations, and separations.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws with experience managing teams across multiple states.
- Experienced collaboration with Talent Acquisition on hiring strategies, offers, equity reviews, and recruitment support.
- Self-directed ability to thrive in fast-changing environments with high ownership.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills across all leadership levels.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and enhance HR programs, processes, and organizational frameworks.
- Preferred SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent HR certification.
- Experience in high-growth technology firms or private equity-backed businesses is advantageous.
- Familiarity with HR systems such as HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and employee engagement tools is a plus.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams and supporting leadership development or manager training programs is beneficial.
- Capacity to perform extensive computer-based tasks requiring long periods of sitting and repetitive keyboard use.
