Overview
We are looking for a Senior Manager New Markets to join our expanding New Markets team in Munich, reporting directly to the VP New Markets. This role is key in geographically growing Westwing’s presence, focusing on executing our market entry and scaling strategy. Having recently doubled our operations from 11 to 23 countries, we are eager to broaden our footprint even further. This role is ideal for an independent, detail-oriented professional enthusiastic about building markets from inception.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead expansion strategy by conducting market sizing, competitor evaluation, positioning, and financial modeling to recommend market entry priorities and methods.
- Drive commercial and go-to-market strategies including assortment curation, pricing strategies, brand positioning, marketing directives, and launch execution with clear milestones.
- Manage cross-functional workstreams crucial for market launch readiness, especially focusing on commercial and marketing aspects, while coordinating with sourcing, operations, customs, legal, tax, and technology teams.
- Establish, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators post-launch, optimize growth and profitability through continuous playbook refinement and actionable insights.
- Conduct customer surveys to gain market insights ensuring superior customer experience from launch day onward.
- Create presentations and prepare strategic recommendations for senior leadership while aligning all stakeholders involved.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, strategy, consulting, or related roles, preferably with a background in commercial or marketing functions within consumer or lifestyle sectors.
- Strong analytical and strategic skills, including the ability to develop business cases and financial models, solve complex issues creatively with a customer focus.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with ownership mentality, capable of independently managing projects from analysis through implementation while balancing speed and detail.
- Skilled in project management, adept at handling multiple workstreams and diverse stakeholders to deliver precise, quality outcomes.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English; German language skills are advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, with familiarity with Google Workspace considered a plus.
