Job description
Role Overview
This position is responsible for steering finance operations across assigned power projects and plant operations in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The role calls for strong financial leadership, disciplined control systems, and close alignment with business, regulatory, and governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the finance agenda for assigned power projects and operations, with a focus on strong controls and compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Create, roll out, and review financial plans that support both immediate priorities and long-range business goals.
- Handle budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to deliver reliable insights for senior management decisions.
- Manage working capital, cash flow, and liquidity so that project and plant finances remain healthy and efficient.
- Coordinate statutory and internal audits, along with compliance submissions, to maintain transparency and governance standards.
- Work closely with teams across project execution, operations, legal, and commercial functions to align financial objectives and reduce business risk.
- Assess financing alternatives, investment proposals, and capital expenditure plans to improve returns and control costs.
- Guide, develop, and motivate the finance team while building a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
- Liaise with banks, financial institutions, regulators, and auditors to ensure seamless financial activity and timely reporting.
- Promote the use of digital finance platforms and automation to improve speed, accuracy, and reporting quality.
- Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and management notes for review by the Board and executive committees.
- Lead cost-reduction and financial efficiency initiatives aimed at improving profitability without compromising compliance or quality.
- Ensure compliance with GST, Income Tax, and other applicable statutory obligations relevant to the power and energy sector.
- Contribute to business development efforts through due diligence, feasibility studies, and risk evaluation.
- Stay current on market developments, regulatory updates, and industry practices to proactively manage risks and opportunities.
- Support the organization’s sustainability goals by factoring ESG considerations into financial planning and reporting.
Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, or MBA in Finance from a reputed institution.
- B.Com, MBA, or another relevant graduation background is also mentioned as acceptable.
