Job description
About the company
Visa is a global payments technology company that enables transactions between consumers, merchants, financial institutions, and government bodies across more than 200 countries and territories. Its mission is to help people, businesses, and communities move money securely and efficiently, and to create meaningful impact at scale.
Role overview
This position blends commercial sales with product and solution design. The successful candidate will help bring more large and mid-market clients onto Visa Commercial Solutions, expand market reach, open new partnership opportunities, and grow revenue through deeper relationships with both new and existing partners.
The role calls for strong expertise in commercial cards and B2B payments, along with the ability to sell strategically to senior decision-makers using a consultative, solutions-first approach. It also requires a genuine interest in building strong internal and external relationships and helping businesses in the AuNZPI region digitise payments.
Key accountabilities
- Set shared objectives and performance targets in line with the strategic business and go-to-market plan developed with the Director of Commercial Solutions for AuNZPI.
- Create and execute plans to grow payment volume and build durable revenue streams with key issuers and strategic partners.
- Manage relationships with issuers, including financial institutions and non-financial institutions, and shape commercial solutions go-to-market plans in partnership with the relevant account teams.
- Identify uncarded and carded B2B payment flows and develop opportunities that increase purchase volume and revenue across public and private sector clients in collaboration with financial institution partners.
- Anticipate evolving customer needs and market trends, then translate those into actionable growth strategies.
- Work with the Visa Commercial Solutions hub team on product development, technology and innovation initiatives, as well as industry events and promotional activities.
- Contribute to quarterly account and business planning with assigned clients and aligned stakeholders, ensuring actions and deliverables are clearly defined and tracked.
- Maintain strong knowledge of Visa’s products and services, with depth in commercial card solutions and broader understanding of merchant acceptance, e-commerce, and digital platforms.
- Coordinate effectively across Visa teams so the right people are informed, engaged, and aligned.
- Define annual goals and ensure plans are implemented through the year.
- Use a consultative sales method to support client B2B, travel and entertainment, and wider business objectives while improving performance metrics.
- Assess business opportunities and apply both near-term and longer-range tactics to increase volume, share, and profitability.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant is a proactive self-starter who takes action quickly and has a proven record of developing and commercialising technology products that resonate with customers. They should be comfortable working with senior executives, able to simplify complex business and technical ideas, and confident handling consultative sales conversations focused on client outcomes.
Experience with ERP and EMS connectivity, and an understanding of how these systems connect to card payment platforms, processors, and reconciliation flows, is important. The role also calls for creativity, commercial thinking, strong leadership, professionalism, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across functions.
Knowledge of issuer banks and institutional or commercial business transaction banking structures is considered an advantage. An advanced degree is strongly preferred.
Work arrangement
This is an on-site role, and the company requires attendance in the office at least three days per week. The exact in-office schedule will be confirmed by the hiring manager.
Equal opportunity statement
Visa is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will be considered without discrimination based on race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or veteran status. The company will also review applicants with criminal histories in line with applicable guidelines and local law.
