Role Summary

The Senior Manager for Deliver Operations Planning is responsible for leading and overseeing deliver planning execution across a multi-region network of distribution centers and transportation partners. The role may be based in Switzerland, Belgium, or Ireland, with the posted location in Limerick, County Limerick, Ireland.

This position focuses on applying global planning standards consistently, aligning deliver planning with Integrated Business Planning (IBP), and improving outcomes related to service, cost, cash, and resilience. The role also supports enterprise decisions by providing planning insights, scenario analysis, and alignment across functions.

What You Will Do

• Direct the global execution of Deliver Operations Planning within approved planning frameworks and standards.
• Make sure regional planning teams work consistently and effectively within agreed guardrails.
• Track planning performance and push corrective actions when gaps are identified.
• Lead supply and capacity planning across company-owned and third-party logistics distribution centers, as well as transportation partners.
• Maintain timely and accurate visibility into capacity constraints, risks, and trade-offs across the network.
• Help regional Deliver teams build and run capacity and labor plans that support business priorities.
• Own the Deliver planning inputs, analysis, and recommendations used in IBP processes such as Supply Review and Management Business Review.
• Run planning scenarios and trade-off analysis to inform enterprise decisions.
• Represent Deliver planning outcomes in IBP forums and leadership conversations.
• Execute approved scenarios related to allocation, mode mix, network risks, and product launches.
• Explain the operational and financial impact of planning scenarios in a clear way.
• Support leadership with evidence-based planning recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with global planning standards, controls, governance expectations, and playbooks.
• Monitor planning quality using KPIs, indicators, and maturity assessments.
• Escalate risks, gaps, and exceptions through the right governance and decision forums.
• Identify operational vulnerabilities and planning risks early.
• Support mitigation plans and contingency preparation.
• Build resilient planning outcomes through disciplined execution and close monitoring.
• Lead, coach, and develop Deliver Operations Planning teams and other key contributors.
• Work closely with Regional Deliver Operations, E2E Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, and Finance.
• Influence stakeholders by communicating planning insights, risks, and trade-offs clearly.

Scope of the Role

• Owned responsibilities include execution of Deliver Operations Planning activities, deliver supply and capacity planning outcomes, and planning inputs and recommendations into IBP.
• Not owned by this role are enterprise planning process or policy design, day-to-day distribution or transportation execution, and enterprise IBP governance.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s or other advanced degree is preferred.
• Extensive experience in supply chain planning, operations planning, or deliver/network planning in a global setting is required.
• Proven leadership experience in planning and IBP integration is needed.
• You should be able to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
• Experience in complex, multi-region distribution and logistics networks is preferred.
• Strong analytical ability, scenario planning capability, and decision-framework development skills are preferred.
• You should be able to turn strategy into standardized and executable planning processes.

Experience and Skills

• At least 8 to 10 years of overall business experience is required, ideally in planning, deliver, strategy, or large program management.
• Success in a complex, highly matrixed, global organization with shifting priorities and tight deadlines is essential.
• Experience owning the IBP process and linking it to P&L and working capital is required.
• Demonstrated impact in progressively more complex leadership roles, including influence-led leadership and end-to-end thinking, is needed.
• A strong grasp of core order fulfillment processes, including customer service, warehousing, and transportation, is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• At least 5 years of managerial experience representing supply chain or another function in leadership teams is preferred.
• Solid planning and systems knowledge with a proven execution record is preferred.
• Critical thinking, learning agility, and intellectual curiosity are desirable.

Additional Information

• This role requires up to 25% domestic and international travel.
• Desired qualifications include APICS, CSCP, CLTD, CPIM, and/or Lean Six Sigma certification, or a degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or Engineering.
• Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical sector is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of finance-related processes is considered an advantage.
