The company designs, manufactures, and distributes sunglasses and optical frames for a distinguished portfolio of Maisons, including Dior, Fendi, Celine, Givenchy, Loewe, Stella McCartney, Kenzo, Berluti, Bulgari, Tag Heuer, and Fred. Thélios also operates two owned brands: Barton Perreira and Vuarnet.
Role Overview
Thélios is looking for a commercially minded Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy & Business Development to help drive growth and elevate the brand across the Americas. The role focuses on improving distribution strategy, uncovering and developing business opportunities, and making sure Maison standards are applied consistently across priority channels and markets.
This person will work closely with Sales, Brand Management, Visual Merchandising, Supply Chain, and regional leadership to review distribution performance, uncover whitespace, support strategic account growth, and ensure the in-store experience reflects Maison expectations.
Distribution Strategy & Commercial Performance
- Review the Americas distribution network and align it with Maison standards, selective distribution principles, and commercial goals.
- Study the active door universe by brand, channel, region, and account, including openings, closures, segmentation, and performance.
- Track door-level results across sell-in, sell-out, assortment, replenishment, and rollout of new collections.
- Spot distribution gaps, weak territories, and underperforming doors, then propose actions to improve productivity and brand positioning.
- Work with Sales leadership on business planning at channel, regional, and district levels, including budget, forecast, and re-forecast.
- Recommend priorities for doors, account segmentation, assortment planning, and investment allocation.
- Provide leadership with analysis, insights, and decision-support recommendations.
- Carry out competitive benchmarking of luxury eyewear brands, retail settings, pricing, assortment, visibility, and distribution.
- Act as the Americas market expert and share local market realities, opportunities, and regional needs with HQ and Brand Management.
Business Development & Strategic Growth
- Create account- and channel-specific growth plans that balance commercial opportunity with Maison positioning and selective distribution.
- Assess and pursue new business development opportunities across North American channels.
- Partner with Sales and leadership to evaluate new target doors, expansion opportunities, and commercial partnerships.
- Prepare business cases for strategic opportunities, including market potential, brand fit, operating feasibility, investment needs, and ROI.
- Support commercial initiatives that strengthen brand elevation, client engagement, assortment productivity, and long-term account growth.
- Work internally to improve fill rate, best-seller penetration, replenishment, and overall door productivity.
- Contribute commercial input to strategic buying meetings, trade shows, and key account presentations.
- Maintain tracking and reporting on business development initiatives, ensuring follow-through, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
Visual Merchandising & In-Store Execution
- Make sure Visual Merchandising across accounts meets Maison standards and strengthens in-store brand presentation.
- Partner with Sales and Trade Marketing to secure the best possible in-store brand placement.
- Review the quality and consistency of fixtures, displays, assortment, and seasonal updates in stores.
- Prioritize permanent fixture and visibility opportunities based on door performance, brand relevance, account potential, and return on investment.
- Share feedback with HQ and local leadership on VM challenges, market needs, and opportunities to improve in-store impact.
Brand, Product & Market Feedback
- Work with Paris-based Brand Management to communicate Americas market needs related to product assortment, styling, color, pricing, and competitive positioning.
- Support regional commercial briefings by turning local market insights into clear and actionable input.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Sales on launch quantities for new collections, style ranking, inventory investment, and replenishment for core best-selling SKUs.
- Analyze product performance by brand, account, channel, and region to identify opportunities and assortment gaps.
- Ensure regional recommendations are backed by market data, account feedback, competitive analysis, and commercial results.
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in Brand Management or Merchandising/Buying within fashion, luxury, or consumer goods is preferred.
- Strong ability to identify opportunities quickly, research practical solutions, and introduce new processes.
- Excellent communication, influence, and presentation capabilities.
- Comfortable solving complex problems that may involve multiple teams across the organization.
- Strong computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage complex projects and handle multiple priorities at once.
