Role Summary
We are seeking a seasoned HVAC Design Engineer specializing in Pharmaceutical Cleanroom, Industrial, and Controlled Environment facilities. The candidate will be expected to handle full-scale HVAC system design tasks, including heat load and psychrometric analyses, air distribution, and preparing validation documents. Experience with pharma, cleanroom, API, formulation, healthcare, biotech, industrial manufacturing, or controlled environment projects is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed HVAC design layouts for pharmaceutical cleanrooms and industrial facilities.
- Conduct heat load and psychrometric calculations.
- Select and calculate specifications for cooling coils in DX and chilled water systems.
- Compute heater loads and design suitable dehumidification systems.
- Design cleanroom airflow and verify air distribution systems.
- Prepare and critically review HVAC design drawings and layouts, including ducting and airflow plans.
- Specify equipment such as AHUs, FCUs, chillers, VRF/VRV systems, as well as exhaust and ventilation setups.
- Draft technical design specifications and validate documentation including DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ protocols.
- Estimate project costs and prepare BOQs and budget proposals.
- Engage with clients, consultants, vendors, and cross-functional project teams to ensure coordination.
- Participate actively in technical meetings and conduct site visits for project oversight.
- Adhere to HVAC standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ASHRAE, ISHRAE, SMACNA, and cleanroom regulations.
- Support execution teams with technical insights throughout project phases.
Candidate Profile
- B.E. or B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in HVAC design with an emphasis on pharmaceutical and cleanroom projects.
- In-depth understanding of heat load, psychrometrics, AHU and duct system design, chilled water system engineering, and HVAC industry norms.
- Experience preparing and reviewing Design Qualification (DQ), Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) documentation.
- Proficiency with design and calculation software including AutoCAD, HAP, and MS Excel.
- Prior involvement in HVAC cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and project coordination activities.
- Strong familiarity with ASHRAE, ISHRAE, SMACNA standards, GMP requirements, and cleanroom guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills and capability in client interaction.
