Role overview
We are seeking a strategic Senior Financial Analyst who thrives in a fast-moving environment and can turn financial data into practical business direction. In this position, you will help stakeholders understand the key drivers of performance through accurate reporting, forecasting, and analysis that supports decision-making and improves efficiency.
This role is based in the greater Vancouver, British Columbia area and follows a remote-first model. While day-to-day work is remote, in-person collaboration is expected for strategic, team-based, and social activities.
Key responsibilities
You will own reporting, planning, and analytics activities that help the business track results and make informed choices.
- Prepare monthly internal financial reporting that compares actual results with budget, forecast, and the prior year, while explaining major variances and the reasons behind them.
- Develop, update, and improve KPI dashboards used to monitor performance across consolidated, business unit, channel, and location levels.
- Contribute to the full financial planning process, including the annual long-range plan with quarterly refreshes, annual budgeting, and monthly forecasting.
- Convert complex financial information into actionable insights by identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and unusual movements through monthly and quarterly business reviews and weekly scorecards.
- Deliver high-quality financial and operational analysis that gives stakeholders clear, fact-based business intelligence.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical mindset, solid communication skills, and experience in financial planning and management reporting.
- At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, planning, and management reporting.
- At least 2 years of experience working in a large retail or omnichannel environment.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings clearly.
- Advanced Excel and VBA capability, along with practical experience using Power BI.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a closely related field.
