Job description
Role overview
We are hiring a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer for an offshore mixed-signal engineering team in Mysuru. The position focuses on the interface between hardware behavior and software control, with work centered on creating deterministic real-time firmware used in advanced hardware emulation systems. The role involves simulating electrical behavior such as V-I trajectories and building reliable low-level software that can run close to the hardware.
What you will do
- Develop firmware for real-time systems that must behave predictably and consistently.
- Create software models that reproduce complex electrical characteristics for emulation platforms.
- Write modern, maintainable, memory-safe C++ code for embedded targets.
- Work at both the application and hardware-adjacent layers, including linker scripts, register-level drivers, and RTOS-based software.
- Contribute to software architecture, design, debugging, validation, and completion of development projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to deliver engineering goals.
Technical profile expected
- Strong command of C++ and solid understanding of computing fundamentals.
- Good grasp of software design and architecture, object-oriented programming, systems programming, computer architecture, and operating systems.
- Hands-on experience developing on microcontrollers or microprocessors such as ARM Cortex-M/R/A, RISC-V, or STM32.
- Deep familiarity with hard real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, QNX, or VxWorks.
- Working knowledge of low-level embedded Linux, including Yocto-based environments or embedded Linux systems.
- Comfort with memory debugging and profiling tools such as Valgrind and GDB.
- Experience with automated unit testing frameworks such as GTest.
Good-to-have experience
- Background in Windows driver development.
- Exposure to Linux kernel-mode and user-mode driver development.
- Familiarity with debugging tools like WinDBG on Windows and Linux debugging utilities.
- Experience using Python for scripting or automation.
- Exposure to Agile delivery practices.
Preferred strengths
- Strong problem-solving ability and initiative.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ownership of goals, schedules, and end-to-end task completion.
- Capability to work effectively across teams and with global stakeholders.
Eligibility
This opportunity is open to candidates with a B.Tech / B.E. in Electronics or Electrical Engineering. The role is aligned to the industrial products domain.
