About the Role

As our company expands, we seek a strategic and proactive Senior Director / VP of Finance & Analytics to spearhead our financial strategy, supervise financial operations, and drive growth to the next phase. Serving as a crucial business partner to the executive leadership, this role provides essential financial insights and strategic direction for scaling the organization.

This position requires a hybrid work setup, with in-office presence four days per week at our Los Angeles location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with growth targets and long-term goals.
  • Oversee all financial planning and analysis activities, including forecasting, budgeting, and scenario evaluation.
  • Collaborate with leadership to assess critical projects, analyze return on investment, and enhance performance across various channels.
  • Manage cash flow, capital allocation, and working capital to maintain financial stability and scalability.
  • Prepare and deliver materials for board meetings, investor communications, and executive reporting, simplifying complex financial information into strategic insights.
  • Act as a principal advisor to the CEO and leadership team on business and financial decisions.
  • Work alongside the SVP, Controller to supervise accounting and compliance functions with internal and external partners.
  • Coordinate cross-functional budget alignment with strategic initiatives and operational goals.
  • Lead the data and analytics division, develop reporting systems, and ensure timely access to reliable business intelligence.
  • Identify and monitor key performance indicators company-wide, such as customer acquisition, retention, LTV/CAC, and margin metrics.
  • Convert complex data into practical recommendations to inform strategy and improve decision-making across teams.
  • Promote a culture emphasizing data-driven decision making throughout the organization.
  • Recruit, develop, and guide a high-performing finance and analytics team.
  • Engage cross-functionally to communicate financial insights clearly and effectively.

Qualifications

  • 8 to 12 years of advancing experience in finance, ideally within DTC, e-commerce, retail, or consumer product sectors.
  • Demonstrated leadership overseeing FP&A, accounting, and business analytics departments.
  • Deep knowledge of DTC financial metrics including customer acquisition cost, retention, lifetime value, contribution margins, and profitability.
  • Expertise in developing presentations for boards, executives, and investors.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
  • Proven ability to influence executive decisions through insightful financial analysis and strategic collaboration.
  • A hands-on leadership approach thriving in fast-paced, rapidly growing companies.
  • Excellent communication skills capable of simplifying complex financial concepts for diverse audiences.
  • CPA and/or MBA credentials are advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

The base annual salary range for this role is $175000 to $225000, with individual pay determined by factors such as relevant skills, experience, and education. This range excludes bonuses, equity, and other benefits, which may be available.
