Job description
About Journey Beyond
Journey Beyond is Australia’s leading experiential tourism group, operating 20 brands across Australia and New Zealand. Based in Adelaide, the business connects guests with remarkable places and memorable experiences through a wide portfolio that includes iconic rail journeys, outback travel, luxury lodges, marine adventures, scenic flights, skydeck attractions, heritage rail experiences, resort and tourism offerings, and more.
About the Opportunity
This 2-year contract role is ideal for an accomplished digital product leader who can steer transformation across a multi-brand tourism business. Reporting to the Group Manager - Digital Experience, you will own the digital roadmap, coordinate website and platform initiatives, and partner with cross-functional teams to improve customer experience and deliver measurable business value.
The role calls for someone who combines product strategy, delivery discipline, stakeholder influence, and digital best practice to shape the organisation’s future online presence.
What You’ll Do
- Guide end-to-end delivery of new websites and platform migrations, while managing timelines, sprint rhythms, risks, and delivery blockers across complex workstreams.
- Create and continuously refine a ranked product roadmap, ensuring the backlog is shaped from discovery through to sprint-ready stories and focused on the highest-impact work.
- Lead structured discovery to test assumptions using research, analytics, and market benchmarking, and turn findings into clear problem statements and opportunity briefs.
- Work closely with brand, commercial, agency, and technology stakeholders to align priorities, share progress, and secure commitment across teams beyond your direct reporting line.
- Apply practical knowledge of SEO, GEO, platform architecture, website performance, and technology evaluation to make sound build-versus-buy-versus-adapt decisions.
- Define and track success measures for product initiatives, focusing on outcomes such as conversion, traffic, and engagement, and use customer insights to inform optimisation.
- Support and coach direct reports, expected to include a Product Manager and Business Analyst, while helping build a strong-performing digital team culture.
- Prepare clear briefs, status updates, and strategic communications for senior leaders, brand teams, and external partners to support decision-making and programme confidence.
What We’re Looking For
You should bring proven experience leading digital products and transformation work, along with a strong understanding of customer needs, commercial goals, and technical delivery. The role suits a strategic, data-led problem solver who is comfortable working in fast-paced environments and guiding others through change.
Strong capability in roadmap management, Agile delivery, digital optimisation, senior stakeholder engagement, and website/platform strategy is essential. A working knowledge of SEO, user behaviour analysis, and digital performance measurement is also important.
