Role overview
Hill International is growing its team for a major mixed-use development initiative in the UAE and is hiring experienced Design Managers for distinct project streams. This opening is focused on Infrastructure & Buildings, while other Design Manager appointments may cover Hospitality & Interior Design and Masterplan & Landscape.
Role scope
The selected professional will oversee the design workflow for the infrastructure and buildings package, guiding the project from early concept development through detailed design and IFC documentation. The role requires close coordination across disciplines to keep the design aligned with programme requirements and project goals.
Key accountabilities
- Lead the design management process for the assigned project package from concept to detailed design and IFC stage.
- Track progress against the approved schedule and flag any slippage or deviation.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs to maintain design consistency and resolve interface issues.
- Ensure that all design deliverables are submitted on time and in line with agreed milestones.
- Work with local authority requirements and manage the related approval process.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering is required; a master's degree is preferred.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in design and engineering roles.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a design management capacity.
- Background in large-scale developments such as infrastructure, mixed-use, or urban projects.
- Previous experience in a PMC or consultancy setting.
- Strong multidisciplinary coordination experience.
- Working knowledge of local authority standards and approval procedures.
- Ability to use design coordination tools including AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
