Our company is building an advanced platform that integrates a unified AI agent to assist customers across all stages of their journey—including sales, support, and re-engagement—ushering in the era of Conversational Commerce. Our goal is to transform customer-brand interactions into seamless, personalized, and intelligent relationships, using cutting-edge AI combined with deep product knowledge.
Our focus areas include:
- Delivering authentic, on-brand conversation experiences.
- Ensuring smooth shopping experiences from chat to purchase.
- Facilitating personalized one-on-one interactions to boost re-engagement, avoiding generic marketing noise.
GTMfund is shaping the foundation for ecommerce's next decade, empowering each brand with its intelligent agent and ensuring customers receive a uniquely understood experience.
Decision Intelligence Team Mission
The Decision Intelligence team drives strategic decision-making as a core competitive edge within the organization. We develop and maintain the Gorgias Decision Engine (GDE), a central system uniting infrastructure, data, context, decision products, and AI capabilities. The GDE empowers the company to obtain insights, automate workflows, and improve decision quality.
The team spans several disciplines:
- Data and AI Engineering: building the infrastructure, context strategies, and scaling AI capabilities.
- Analytics: activating GDE's value via partnerships and strategic insights.
- Data Science: providing forward-looking analytics including forecasting and experimentation.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the data science function within Decision Intelligence, directly reporting to the Senior Manager of Decision Strategy and Operations.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Data Analytics to establish and grow the data science vision and strategy.
- Partner with stakeholders across Finance, GTM, and Product—from frontline employees to C-suite—to deliver data-driven modeling, experimentation, and actionable recommendations.
- Enhance forecasting models related to finance such as revenue projections, churn prediction, and scenario analyses.
- Advance audience segmentation and profiling efforts for effective GTM strategies.
- Support initiatives for retention and expansion intelligence by refining churn risk models, identifying growth opportunities, and assessing customer success measures.
- Contribute to pricing strategies through models analyzing price sensitivity, upgrade potentials, and predictive pricing experiments.
- Develop and scale frameworks for experimentation and A/B testing, including defining vital metrics and success indicators.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to provide near real-time insights, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.
- Maintain and improve existing predictive models such as fit score, intent score, churn risk, and forecasting by updating signals and features.
- Spot valuable repeatable data patterns and coordinate with Data Engineering to productionize these as integrated models within the Gorgias Decision Engine.
Candidate Profile
- Possess over five years of hands-on experience in data science or related quantitative domains, with expert knowledge in Python and SQL.
- Strong expertise in statistical modeling, forecasting techniques, segmentation, and experimental design.
- A highly motivated individual contributor eager to build the data science discipline from ground zero, shaping their career by defining and scaling the function.
- Comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, able to ship solutions iteratively.
- Excellent communication skills to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Able to juggle multiple domain areas including Finance, GTM, and Product, with natural prioritization and organizational skills.
- Passionate about the intersection of AI and data science, viewing large language models and agentic systems as amplifiers rather than replacements.
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams to deploy and monitor models in production using MLOps practices, including CI/CD.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in SaaS, B2B, or ecommerce industries.
- Familiarity with dbt, BigQuery, or related modern analytics engineering tools and workflows.
- Experience as an early data science hire or having established a data science function previously.
Technical Stack
- Data & Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform with BigQuery, dbt.
- AI & ML: Python along with frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph, using LLMs including Anthropic, Gemini, and OpenAI.
Benefits and Work Environment
- Five weeks of paid vacation aligned with local PTO laws.
- Paid sick and parental leave (16 weeks).
- Complete setup support including a MacBook Pro, up to CAD 900 for home workstation setup.
- Private health insurance and a retirement pension plan (RRSP) with employer matching contributions up to 4%.
- Onboarding week in the Toronto office with travel and accommodation expenses covered.
- Annual learning budget of up to CAD 2,600 for educational resources and professional development.
- Quarterly company-wide summits and annual offsite retreats fostering connection and team cohesion.
