Job description

Qualification

  • Possess a Higher National Diploma or Graduate degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering from a globally recognized university. Additional certifications or coursework in Safety, Quality Control, and Construction methodologies would be beneficial.

Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in construction focused on Electrical and Instrumentation for Buildings and Infrastructure within the oil and gas sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in HV/MV/LV network systems and installations, Lighting and Earthing systems, Power system protections, AC/DC UPS systems, Cathodic Protection systems, Process and Control systems, Fire and Gas detection systems, BMS, CCTV, PA-VA systems, ACS and HVAC control systems.
  • Experience in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and supporting Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all site construction and installation activities related to Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines for building services and infrastructure projects in designated operational areas.
  • Coordinate closely with discipline supervisors, project engineers, end users, asset managers, and relevant departments to ensure project alignment.
  • Support contractors during mobilization and demobilization phases.
  • Review and assess project plans and schedules during construction to identify delays and help optimize contractor resource allocation.
  • Evaluate method statements and pre-commissioning procedures; approve red-line drawings and ensure project documentation completeness.
  • Authorize work permits and enforce compliance with safety regulations, project-specific safety plans, and Qatar’s environmental and safety standards.
  • Inspect construction work and materials to confirm adherence to quality standards and Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Participate in weekly progress meetings, maintain daily and weekly progress reports, and verify contractor claims for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with end users to develop punch lists and ensure timely resolution of all punch list items by contractors.
  • Assist and coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning tasks.
  • Issue Mechanical Completion Certificates and support the operational and final handover process of constructed facilities.
