Senior Construction Cost Specialist

About the role

This position sits within a global team focused on building construction cost data products that improve trust and accuracy in cost information. The role is based in Goa, India and is suited to someone with deep expertise in one of these areas: civil construction, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, or electrical systems.

The work involves collaboration across subject-matter experts and disciplines to create unified cost datasets covering new construction, renovation, maintenance, life-cycle costs, and specialty cost collections.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, create, verify, and keep up to date discipline-based construction cost information.
• Build cost datasets for new builds, renovation work, upkeep, life-cycle costing, and specialty collections.
• Partner with subject-matter experts and contribute within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Help align inputs across teams so cost data is consistent and cohesive.
• Ensure the resulting cost data reflects current materials, equipment, and labor practices.
• Bring in relevant new trends and technologies to improve existing and future cost data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with at least 10 years of experience; candidates without a degree must have 15 years of experience.
• Background in construction cost estimating plus field experience in one or more of the following: civil, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.
• Strong command of construction practices, equipment, and materials at an expert level.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Comfort using Windows-based and cloud-based software tools.
• Preferred: experience with cost estimating software.
• Preferred: working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Preferred: familiarity with CSI MasterFormat.
• Preferred: ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
• Preferred: comfort in a collaborative setting and the ability to handle pressure and deadlines.
• Preferred: awareness of emerging construction methods, trends, and technologies.
