About the Role

Join NZ Post as a Senior Communications Specialist and be central to crafting and sharing compelling stories that resonate with Kiwis. This position involves shaping and executing the communications strategy to effectively tell the evolving story of NZ Post in ways that align with our strategic goals and engage both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement integrated communications strategies supporting business priorities to enhance understanding, engagement, and enhance NZ Post's reputation.
  • Provide expert, best-practice communications guidance to senior leaders and multiple teams across the organisation.
  • Develop communications tools and messaging that clearly connect audiences to NZ Post's mission and daily impact.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement during large, complex initiatives.
  • Manage content across diverse communication channels ensuring consistency, clarity, and brand alignment.
  • Contribute to various significant projects and maintain a collaborative and proactive team spirit.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced communications professional adept at simplifying complex information and skilled in storytelling. They bring a strategic mindset combined with outstanding writing and editing capabilities, and have a proven record of influencing and engaging diverse audiences. They are comfortable advising senior leaders and managing challenging communication scenarios.

  • At least 7 years' experience in communications within a complex organizational context.
  • Strong expertise in internal and external communications, with particular strengths in media relations and corporate storytelling.
  • Demonstrable success in crafting and executing strategic communications with measurable results.
  • Excellent skills in content creation across various formats and platforms.
  • Proficient stakeholder management and confident partnership with senior leadership.
  • Highly proactive, creative, and solution-oriented, with superb multitasking and organization skills.

Additional Details

This role is based in Highbrook, Auckland and offers flexibility with work-from-home options. NZ Post is currently undergoing a transformation focusing on Parcels and the evolution of Mail, presenting an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of delivery services in Aotearoa.
