Senior Civil Engineer

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for their operations in Hyderabad, Telangana. This role involves overseeing reinforcement activities within the casting yard, ensuring quality, safety, and efficient material utilization. The position reports directly to the Casting Yard Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the cutting, bending, and tying of reinforcement cages for concrete segments.
• Collaborate with engineer's representatives and internal departments to ensure project alignment.
• Develop and maintain Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) based on approved structural drawings.
• Implement strategies for optimizing scrap and offcut material to minimize waste.
• Ensure a safe working environment, promoting safe practices among all workers and for all machinery.
• Maintain high-quality standards throughout all stages of reinforcement work.
• Prepare and submit monthly steel requirement reports to the Construction Manager.
• Facilitate effective coordination between shift engineers.
• Submit Requests for Information (RFIs) in accordance with established systems and planned activities.
• Coordinate with external departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct monthly reconciliation of rebar quantities used and accounted for.

Requirements

• Proven experience in reinforcement engineering and construction.
• Strong understanding of Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) and structural drawings.
• Knowledge of steel optimization techniques and scrap reduction.
• Commitment to maintaining high safety standards on construction sites.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
• Ability to manage and report on material requirements and reconciliation.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Hyderabad, Telangana.
