About the Department
The Operations department focuses on enhancing business performance globally by streamlining processes to deliver outstanding customer experiences and maximize shareholder value. Through process simplification, consolidation, automation, and strong internal controls, Operations drives efficiency and mitigates risks. Within this, Operations Utilities manages company-wide utility functions to achieve scale, operational consistency, and implement automation and control measures.
Role Overview
The Quality Assurance (QA) team under Operations Utilities provides assurance that business processes and risk controls operate as intended, effectively mitigating risks. This team functions as a post-transaction quality check, verifying adherence to regulatory and internal policies and evaluating control quality manually or via automation. In this role, you will:
- Assist in drafting and implementing QA governance documentation across Utilities.
- Collaborate with lines of business to document QA program requirements and ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
- Ensure all documentation receives necessary approvals and is properly archived.
- Develop a structured documentation hierarchy for all QA programs.
- Support regulatory examination preparation and responses related to QA.
- Conduct review activities to confirm that controls are designed and functioning effectively within Ops Utilities QA.
- Create job aids supporting the QA program.
- Escalate issues to management for corrective action development.
- Provide suggestions for process and tool enhancements in the QA group.
- Manage or advise on complex escalated matters requiring evaluation and interpretation.
- Lead or contribute to process and procedure implementations involving coordination across teams.
- Apply independent judgment while gaining understanding of relevant functions, policies, and compliance standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and control enhancements.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have over 10 years' experience in financial crimes, business support, operational risk management, implementation, business operations, or strategic planning within financial services.
- Strong skills in procedure writing are essential.
- Experience in performing and documenting QA, compliance, audit, or post-transaction testing is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capability to engage effectively across organizational levels and work independently or within a team.
- Critical thinking abilities.
- Experience conducting quality assurance activities and enhancing practices through monitoring, surveillance, and quality control.
- Familiarity with evaluating policies, procedures, processes, systems, and controls; and assessing operational risk impacts of business or system changes.
